Like how FF9 was. One player controls the main character, and in battle they each control a party member, or two.

I thought that was the most useles thing ever....

but that reminds me... what about our battle system?

action? tactical? Card based? default?(ew) .Maybe we should start looking for interesting battle systems that we might be able to use.

An Excuse to get my friend let me play FF9 when she was over just so I could play it more?

Yes.

And yeah, a Side-view battle system would be good if we go with the Mech-story.

tactical sideview like on fire emblem could go good if we went with anything but a mech like ive said before mech games have been overused

not on rmxp.

honestly, are there really that many mech games? especially compared to the amount of fantasy rpgs?

It isnt really about story type... I think its more of how the game is designed and the overall feel.

well i know where you are getting at the feel needs to be just right but using ideas like mechs which are used alot kinda gets old so how about something new

Mechs are used in futuristic games because they are a very possible thing. I can see us eventually using mechs to fight our wars, which is why they're popular. But, nonetheless, I'll create a poll for it in the Small Stuff thread.
