A winding road brims with leaves, golden leaves, crimson leaves; they dance and play in the North Carolina Wind, filling the air with the potent aroma of life. A field, still green from the previous summer, its blades shimmering and dripping with the morning’s dew. The leaves drift merrily through, landing lightly on the supple yet sturdy blades of grass, that Sweet Summer Grass. The leaves whisper to the trees, longingly, and yet, happy to be free to blow wherever they please. Down a hill they float, then up, but the task is not so hard; for these leaves, these golden leaves, crimson leaves, are strong and full of spirit. The task is long, but up the hill the leaves go, blowing and tossing happily at the top.
For you see, these golden leaves, crimson leaves, arrived at a house; and, drifting through the air, knocked on the door and whispered words to the ones that listen: Fall has come.

Does the potent aroma of life smell good?
Nice poem, very well done.

I loved this.
I especially liked the way you repeated "golden leaves, crimson leaves" after the mention of leaves. Awesome!

I also like the repetition of the "golden leaves, crimson leaves." This is a very cute and festive poem. It has that magic tingle about it, if you follow...or even if you don't. Let it be known that it indeed does. smile

Ah nature. I love me some poems about nature!
Thanks for sharing! I really liked how i could almost feel, smell and see everything... and they say an overactive imagination is a bad thing! xd
