TBDM is a melodic death/deathcore band from Swe...nope, Michigan formed in 2000. They've been getting quite of a bit of publicity in the metal world as of late, so I'd be surprised if no one's heard of them. Pretty brutal-sounding, think Entombed, Carcass, or Bloodbath.
I'm annoyed at the sentiment that just because they're a young band and (relatively speaking) popular, they get labeled as pure metalcore or deathcore.MySpace profile"Funeral Thirst"

Well, since they mix metalcore and melodic death, they are deathcore. Which goes into the Other metal section.

Well, I won't protest if you move the thread, but, at least to my ear, the metalcore influence isn't all that big.

I've been over this before with previous discussion about metalcore. The conclusion I've come to is that metalcore and deathcore bands fall on a spectrum between metal and hardcore, and whichever they lean more strongly towards is where they are classified. Yes, BDM has breakdowns, but that doesn't automatically disqualify them. The melodeath influence is much stronger than the hardcore influence, which is why BDM is in the death section, and s**t like Bring Me the Horizon is in other.

Having breakdowns doesn't make a band not metal, but the kind of breakdown can. I mean, Vader has a lot of breakdowns, and they are clearly metal. I'd say TBDM are Death enough to stay, some of their older work as a real lot of death sound to it and less core.
On topic: I dislike them, I can't quite tell why, I just don't. I went to the Summer Slaughter Tour this year and left before they played because they were headlining, I went to IHOP instead.

Unhallowed is by far their best LP, Nocturnal is a distant second, and Miasma is mediocre in my opinion.
Hah. Now that I've listed those in that order, I think the next Dimmu album should be called Unhallowed Nocturnal Miasma.

I am sik and tired of these bands ending up in the death forum.
Deathcore =/= death metal. AND if we had it my way, this would go in other MUSIC forum.
But Any metalcore or deathcore bands will go in the Other Metal Subforum.
