My Hollow Oh yes, I know of the loud chirping/yelling that they do for treats. My parakeets have me extremely well trained. That's why I prefer to have a rat - no yelling wink . Although I must say that Stefan is one of a kind rat. He learnt that if he doesn't like anything he could squeak to announce this to me and I would stop doing what he doesn't want me to do to him. Normally, rats would do that only if they get seriously hurt. But this b*****d learnt to utilize this when he needs it. And so, he always squeaks when I take him out of the cage to clean it. Or he does that when he throws down one of the ladders (when jumping like crazy to get his cookie), and then when I try to put it back in place and he stand right there in the place where the ladder should be and is eating his cookie - he would squeak. Oh, and he would use his legs to kick me. Especially when I pretend to take his cookie away from him wink .

Speaking of vets and stuff... I hope none of you will ever be faced with a situation I had with the previous rat of mine... He got ill and was barely breathing. The vet tried to save him with two shots. The shots were not enough though and he was still having problems breathing and generally he was in real pain, not eating etc... Simply had no chance to survive this...
Not being able to save him, I decided that the vet should help him change this world for a better one. I had to hold him while he was receiving that last shot... And if that wasn't enough, they gave me a form to sign that I agreed for euthanasia... I was totally destroyed after that.

Anyway, you exactly know what I meant, brother in pain.

My rat Rory once got stuck in my long sleave sweater because he was a lard bucket. My mom had to cut the sweater to get him out.
He also used to love chocolate surup. Try it but be careful my mom put some on her finger and Rory took out a chunk.

They first grab the food and then run away with it before finding out it's actually someone's finger wink .

For some it's chocolate, for some it's some specific type of sausage and for some this may be a mint candy.
