i do not think u should run those ,they r good in slow combo decks but thats the thing ,they r SLOW.

Vivids are run in Q/T for Reflecting Pool, and while it's a great deck, it's not aggro. They aren't going to work here because he wants to win quick. He's not going to set them up for a Firespout into a Chain of Finksies or something like that-- a T1 Pain/basic and Lannie, T2 Morphed Krosan, T3 Mist, T5 win. For your manabase, I'd go for 4x Brushlands, 4x Wooded Bastion, then the rest basic. The painlands won't hurt you too much, except against Red Deck Loses, but then you have Finks, which essentially spells 'I Win' in the matchup.

I'd personally cut the Safewrights or the Blessing into SB and replace 'em with another O.Ring and something else, which I can think of later. Do you really need that many plains, btw? With the Brushes and Bastion, you can reduce the number on those, since only eight of your cards NEED them.

Pains and filters aren't expensive-- they'd help his deck, IMHO, but they're just what I would do. Do you realize how much money it'd cost for the deck you told him?

Playset of Brushland/Bastion = 38 bucks, most? Less then that if you shop around. Heck, drop the Bastions and it's barely ten bucks.
