The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. lazarus - yeah, if you don't mind me asking...why?
That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.

That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable. don't mind at all, alot of people have asked. I was always a bad christian, i've always believed that i should question the bible adn it's contents and i've never believed that sex, drugs, smoking or alcohol were bad unless they interfered with my daily activities. these things do not mesh with the christian views. i read the nine satanic statements and realized i agreed with them. so i made the logical move.

... My walk's been a little shaky. But everytime I fall, I go to Jesus.
... And I, for one, believe the Bible needs to be questioned for strength in witness. I don't think there are 'bad Christians'. But there are the unbelievers who go to church, and pretend, or there are others with another set of beliefs. Everone has a worldview.

My walk is filled with trail and tribulation. Time after time, Satan attacks me, and leaves me feeling helpless. But then I go to my God, my Rock and Foundation, and he lifts me up. No greater love have I than I do for my Lord. Through the pain, he reminds me of this. While all the world crumbles, God is still on his throne. And so I will fight and be beaten, evangelize and be humbled, lead and falter, and perhaps the Lord shall help with all of these.
And now I'll address hollyannabar's quote within her message bubble (whatever it's called) which says:
The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle.
You think this statement is true, while I completely disagree. Why do you think that is? It is because we each have our own definition of what a Christian is. For you, it is as simple as someone claiming the title to be considered a Christian. Actually, it requires repentance of sin and faith in Christ, which will produce a new heart in that person with new desires and a new love for humanity. Let me make it simple for you. If someone doesn't act like a Christian should, they probably aren't one.

Brad's right. Being a Christian isn't just saying you are. I should know that. Plus, I should be acting a bit better than I currently am. My walk is okay. Sometimes I stumble over the same stone, and I get up myself instead of asking God to kick that stone out of my way, and I bet I need to, because my Spiritual milk supply is pretty low, and all my bones are breaking. I know, I know, crazy analogy, but it's true. I NEED MILK.
