Starla tried to still her frantic shutters, only managing to muffle them. Her lips pulled back into a grimance, not really at him but at the waterfall problem. She didn't care how much she needed to rest and heal, she woudl NOT sleep or be near it. Taking a small step back, her ears still lowered she grumbled, "I'll manage the inconvinence of being farther away...I can't stand living by the water, I'm afraid."

The harsh scoul that was once on Diegos face seamed to clear up in less then an instant. It was then replaced by a soft almost father-like smile. "There nothing to be afraid of. The water is harmless." His smile grew even warmer trying to calm her. "But if you'd rather sleep away from it we have a den closer to the abandoned human settlements...It's rather unsettling but it's as far away from the water without leaving our pack you can go."

Starla cared not what she'd have to be near, as long as it wasn't water. Water dominated all of her fears, driving what was left of her life. Her breath slowed, though her ears remained pinned and she collected herself. She didn't bother to explain to him that water was death's messanger as well and life's gift. "That is fine...it is better then the water, for me anyway." She shifted uncomfortably, hoping not to be pressed about the matter.

Diego cocked his head getting more then confused on the matter. What could be so scary about water? Looking at Starla he could only imagine that she had a bad encounter with it as a pup. That he understood but much more then that he was rather in the dark. At one point he hated the water- but after being with Reicher everything seemed better to him; and thus he went into the water and began to enjoy it once again. With a pause he looked at the Zebra colored wolf. "Might I trouble you as in why you dislike the water?"

"Lets just say it stole all I had from me," Starla said in a low, bitter tone. She did not want to elaberate on the matter. It was none of his business...at least not as of now. Besides, she didn't believe he'd understand even if she did tell him. People tended to be like that, for some reason.

He still couldn't fully understand what she was getting at with the water. But he wasn't going to press it anymore then he really needed; although the curiousity was getting to him. His ear gave an unwavering flick as he tried to control his almost 'ADHD' tendancys. Boy did he want to know what was bothering the other wolf so much. But before he could shoot off his mouth with something stupid he turned and looked at the female again. "Well I'll take you to the packlands then- No use being out in open territory....Plus you look hungry." His mouse slid into a wider smile. Prehaps he could preswade(sp) the story out of her with food. That always did work with him.
