Hey fellow Twilighters!
I'm not sure if any of you are aware of this, but a rapidly expanding group of Twilight fans have got together to organise a huge event called 'Carlisle Would Approve', which is aiming to raise awareness about the importance of donating blood. It's such a great cause and links in well with the whole vampire theme, so we thought that this would be a great way to put our obsession to good use.
We've seen what we can do when we all unite - you just have to look at the growing stats for the trailer on the internet to see. Why not try and use this power to actually make a difference?
Our main focus right now is to get the word out and get a ton of supporters. We are in need of art, graphics, posters, banners, slogans, buttons, and all that kind of stuff. We have decided that the blood banks will be contact last because even if they do not go along with it our campaign with be strong and we will get people out to the donation places. All of the celebrities of Twilight have been contacted, the webmaster of StephenieMeyer.com (Seth), and Stephenie Meyer. We are still waiting for replies. Mr. Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen) thinks that this a great idea and we are waiting to hear what is going on with that. If anyone has contacts please let us know! There are no set dates but October is being talked about. Halloween time would draw the attention of those we are not Twilighters.
Of course there are guidelines about donating blood... you have to be over 17, for example. But everyone can take part even if it's just by telling other people about the cause. We really think this has the potential to take off, and if you do too, PLEASE join the MySpace and Facebook groups - lets make everyone see just what we can do!

I'm glad you like the idea!
I can't take part either because I'm underage, and I'm not American.
So I'm just trying to get support for the cause!
We're expecting to hear back from some people this week, so hopefully there will be some good news!

wow i think that's great! but I'm sixteen, and i was allowed to donate blood at my school as long as I had a signed permission slip...aren't I allowed to donate if I have parental permission?

We're not quite sure as to what the rules will be just yet.
It will depend on the blood banks, really.
