so theres a guy i really like. he's a friend ive known for 2 years and for the past while, ive noticed ive started to like him even more. he talks to me virtually almost every night about anything until its really late whenever he has the chance, he's really nice 2 me, and we have a lot in common. sweatdrop
i'll admit i fantasize about him redface and i really enjoy being around/talking to/being with him, but i cant tell if it's all just a typical crush or being in love. for all i know, it's probably somewhere in the middle. confused

as for the guy, i told him through email how i felt. his response was stuff like "hey, i really like you 2", "im not bothered at all", "i value your friendship", "ask me anything at all", and whatnot.
some people in the lifestyle discussion said that he probably just wanted 2 stay friends, but my other friends at school say he pretty much said he wanted to be more. some say i should ask him, but i dont think i should: i dont want to sound stupid crying

so does he want to be friends or advance? (and should i ask him?)
am i in love or just a crush? (and what do i do?)

Hi LongingHeart!
I really do know how you feel!!!
I think that's really brave of you to write him an email, that's a great first step. His answer sounded a bit vague to me and as you've already broken the ice I think a little follow up would help.
I think you should mail him again but this time be a bit more direct so that he has to answer you better. Maybe you could try saying that you love being his friend but would he like you to be his girlfriend? It might be a bit scary being a bit more direct but you're not doing anything wrong and no harm will come from finding out.
As far as are you in love...... it maybe too early to say but if you can't stop thinking about him that's a good place to start!
I think your story is lovely in the fact that you sound like great friends that can talk and have things in common - now that's a great place to start any romantic relationship!!!

but i gave him the email about 2 or 3 months ago. wouldnt it be 2 late for a followup?
and how do i be more direct? "hey i didnt get what you said last time so could i have a repeat?" or "hey i really really really like you so answer me please?"

Hello there! Alright I think I may be able to help you with at least one of the two, but I'll try my best for both.

A) I do think his responses seemed a little small. Then again, these letters as you said, were sent a while ago. I would personally talk to him face to face abotu it, btu e-mails are also a very good approach. So if you'd prefer I would e-mail him once more, that's quite brave acctually smile good job! Anyways, if his response is small once more, ask him what he thinks, and by "I like u 2" What he means. Ask him to be more detailed I guess would be what I am saying.

B) (This is the one I htink I can help with) I don't think you're in love. Personally, I have strong beliefs in love, but there are ways of knowing in a sense. To me this sounds like a crush. Love is just an unbelievable feeling, it's something you have never experienced before untill it happens, and when it does, you know, you know for sure, you don't even question it. You don't ask yourself "Well...is this a crush? Or maybe it's love..." No, You know. It's so...unexplainable but so wonderfall. There is no way of describing it, but when it happens you will know. It might be love at first sight, and you know, or maybe you get a boyfriend, and it just kind of, grows, and you learn what love is after being with your partner for a certain amount of time. So right now, I'd say it's a crush, but you never know, it might develop into love.

...even to a noob like me?
never went through something like this b4...so even if i ask stuff like this, it means nothing??? (and does it mean i should give up on the guy, seeing i'm not really in love????)

I think it sounds like a great starting point that could develope as what Dani was saying, but first you need to find out if it's on or off...... GL smile

UPDATE: eek ...another girl likes him. he says he likes us both and cant decide but i have a sinking feeling he's already picked her (he hasnt said anything about it yet).
should i ask him or just give up on him? crying

I would ask. There's never a reason to give up, especially if you really like him. But in the end, if he picks her, he's not worth your time. You may not even know it, but there are probably boys that you don't even know exist that notice you everytime you pass them.
