Haha, the other day, I was on a bus going to visit some friends, and my MP3 player ran out of batteries. But I had my laptop with me, and about an hour and a half to go, so I decided to watch some of the Doctor Who episodes that were still on my computer.
Now.... I hadn't watched Midnight in a while, so I figured it would be interesting to watch again. And just at the part where the space-bus stops in the episode, the bus I'm on stops for a pit stop.
This was the point where I realized, in hind sight, that Midnight was not the best episode to watch while on a bus. sweatdrop

Midnight surprised me. I lost faith in anything written by RTD that wasn't a Christmas special after... okay. After he made the Master dance to the Rogue Traders and Scissor Sisters all around the Valiant. I don't care how funny it was. I don't care how awesome Voodoo Child and I Can't Decide are. This is the Master, for Rassilon's sake. It's simply not done. Also, Last of the Time Lords? No. Just no.
But Midnight was... fantastic. In terms of spooky, it pulled things off better than the Library serial, which was just as if the Weeping Angels and the Empty Child had a hideously deformed baby. Could've done without Rose, though.
But it was great. It was brilliant. It kept me up for half the night afterwards on adrenalin, but on the whole it was one of the better episodes in the season. It warrants fanfiction galore on the wee beastie in the shiny, too...

It was a pretty good episode, I wouldn't say it was excellent though. Had great suspense 3nodding And it was cool that the doctor wasn't in charge for once! a bit of a change, made it really interesting. I just didn't like how everyone kept on talking over each other - I mean, it was cleverly done, but almost too clever; it looked staged.
Would have liked to see a bit more of the planet too! They only showed those few shots a couple of times, it looked great.
Also wondering how a 'consciousness' could have made all those banging sounds and such???
Just makes you think about humans though, when you put people in situations like that, their true colours do tend to show. Makes one feel a tad ashamed, even if it wasn't real. D: well I would have sided with the Doctor anyways, haha, pretty sure everyone here would 3nodding

I liked this episode-it was different but in a good way.
Plus it really got me thinking about stuff I would have never thought about (and that's almost impossible for me 4laugh ). The story was so mysterious and the acting was brilliant...as usual! biggrin
