One day, one of the man's children had left the latch undone and with swift thinking, Shinedown pushed the door to the hutch open and ran to escape. She was only an outskirter by this time, but she was much quicker than her mother and when they ran to escape, the farm cat caught her mother. Shinedown didn't dare look back because it not only meant her own death, but that she would be relying on an incompetent mother. She continued deep into the forests, through valleys, and over large hills, trying to get as far away from the hutch and the memory of her mother as she could. She once happened upon a lendri, and even though they were slow, she was not quick enough to escape fully-unscathed. Her poor tail suffered damage, and she lost the very tip of it. Even so, she continued on, hoping she could find a warren like the one of the El-ahrairah stories where she could be accepted.
She found her home in Watership Down, where she grew into a fine adult. The memories of her mother still haunted her sometimes, and she shuddered to think that she could suffer from that madness as well. She hoped that she would find a mate that would not only protect her from the nightmare, but would always be safe from harm. Until that time would come, she watched over the kittens of other does when they could not. She loved watching them play, and enjoyed how carefree they were, unlike her own childhood. She wanted to protect them from ever knowing a life like she had known, where the mother was unloving towards her own kitten, forsaking it for the stories of El-ahrairah. Sometimes though, she would become a little too obsessed with trying to become the perfect mother that the other does would ask her to take a day for herself.
Even so, Shinedown strives to make a perfect life on the Down. She even hopes that she can one day be a storyteller for the kittens, which is why she often looks up to Donovan and Heartsease, hoping that their stories will inspire some of her own. And she has a profound respect for Bracken, Cocklebur, and the rest of the Owsla as they work to keep the warren a safe and happy place. Much like she strives to try and keep the kittens safe and happy.

.: PROFILE of OWNER :. (Image of owner [doodle image only! xd ] coming eventually)'Allo. My name is Shoujo. I've been a member of Gaia since June of '03, so I'll be 5 years old as of June 15th, '08. I guess you can call me a geezer of the Gaian world, but trust me, I don't mind. In all the time I've been on Gaia, I never had much of an interest in the Breedables forum because I wanted to look for things I already had interest in. So when I found the Watership Down breedables shop, I knew right then and there that one of the bunnies should be my very first. I'm happy and very thankful that I found a shop that shares my interests.Outside of Gaia, I'm not very active. I like to think of the Internet as my second life blood. I do like to write and draw though, so that's a favorite passtime when I'm bored and feeling creative. I'm currently going into my 5th year of college, with about 2 more years after that. I'm majoring in Interior Design and will be minoring in English Writing. Yes, even outside of Gaia I am old, but I'm only 22. So pbbt! Anyways, feel free to send me a PM anytime as I love to chat about most anything.
