Name : Beckett Ferris
Gender : female
Age : 17
Year : Seventh
House : Gryffindor

Ethnicity : Caucasian (British/Scottish, some Irish on her mother’s side)
Hair/Eye Color : Her hair is as orange as red hair can be, waist length, and straight as a board. Her eyes are a rather startling shade of blue-grey.

Pet : A scruffy, fat, lazy torti (cat) named Merle.
Home Life : Father’s side- magical, Mother’s side- muggle
Beckett’s father, Charles (Charley) Ferris comes from one of the “younger” wizarding families. While the majority of people within the line are magical, none are actually pureblood as the Ferris line is a mixture of older wizarding family lines and muggle family lines. Charley, like many of his ancestors before him, fell in love with a Muggle woman, Eleanor Noble, when they were both very young. From the start, Eleanor knew that Charley was a wizard, but love conquered all, as they say. The young Mr. and Mrs. Ferris had three children: Beckett (the oldest, a girl), Baylee (the middle child, two years younger than Beckett and also a girl), and Bryce (the youngest, four years younger than Beckett and a boy). For years, the family lived happily together in the English countryside until the summer that little Bryce fell ill. Despite all the medical care they could provide, Bryce couldn’t pull through and died that winter. The family tried to hold together, but in the end the grief and confusion proved too much for Eleanor. Charley and Eleanor divorced about a year after Bryce’s death. Many people in the wizarding world assumed that an underlying issue with her husband’s magical ability was the actual cause of Eleanor’s request for divorce, but as none of the family talks about that trying time, especially Beckett, no one knows for sure. The two remaining Ferris children live with Charley as both are magical. They see their mother on important holidays and on their birthdays, but for the most part she became fairly nonexistant in their lives after the death of Bryce and the subsequent divorce.

Diving deeper : In her short life, Beckett has had quite a lot to deal with. With the loss of a sibling and her parent’s divorce to plague her childhood, Beckett is understandably wary of forming close relationships; she fears loss. That isn’t to say, though, that she doesn’t have friends. On the contrary, she has quite a number of friends. Beck’s issues lie deeper and surface when the relationships get too personal. Despite her deep-seated trust issues, Beck is a fairly outgoing girl and enjoys being in the company of others, but she’s also found immersed in a large tome as often as she’s found chatting with fellow students. In general, most of Beck’s friends are male, but she has a few good female friends too. Though it may seem that Beck is unsuited to Gryffindor when one first meets her, it becomes apparent that under the outgoing personality and tomboyish attitude, hidden beneath the insecurities, Beckett has a strength of character and courage that the sorting hat recognized, even if she herself has not.

Beckett's quick temper has been known to get her into trouble on occasion, though she does a decent job controlling it. Her abilities as a witch are what some would call above average, but she is not by any means at the head of her class. Beck excels in potions and transfiguration, but often comes up a tad short in charms and ancient runes. Her favorite subject is potions, but she enjoys all of the subjects she takes. When she’s not in class, Beck can usually be seen flying alone or with friends. She loves to fly, loves quidditch, and loves soccer. She also enjoys painting on the weekends when she can sit peacefully somewhere, alone, and think or, occasionally, spending time with her sister, Baylee, when Beck can get her away from her many friends. Though playing sports and painting are two of her passions, Beck's deepest ambition is to become a healer. More than anything, she wants to be able to prevent the pain her family experienced from breaking other families apart.

Taking a closer look :
Bright sunlight filtered through her bedroom window as Beck stood in front of the mirror, weaving her long red hair quickly into a tight braid. Securing it with a tie, she flipped the thick plait over her shoulder and ran through the house, nearly tripping over Merle (who had apparently decided that sleeping in the middle of the hallway was a good idea) before barreling out the back door and into the brilliant summer sunshine. Throwing her head back and letting the warm light heat her pale, freckled skin, Beck smiled. Clear summer days were the most enjoyable days of the year. Too often the sky was cloudy and the weather rainy when one lived in the English countryside. Pulling her head back up as she opened her eyes, Beck dropped her soccerball on the grass with a quiet 'thump' and gave it a few kicks, savoring the whispering sound of the grass as the ball rolled through it. Passing the ball back and forth between her feet as she moved down the length of the backyard, Beckett suddenly stopped and twisted, slamming her foot into the side of the ball. Shading her eyes, she watched as the black and white sphere sailed neatly into the net with a satisfying swish. Clearly, the unusually pleasant summer weather was making her giddy, as Beck bounced in circles around her lawn, arms raised in triumph, mimicking the sounds of a wildly cheering crowd.

With a silly grin plastered on her face, Beck spun in place, letting herself fall gently into the thick green grass. She lay on her back, resting her head on her arms which she'd crossed behind her, watching the clouds drift lazily. Without thinking, Beck began looking for shapes in the clouds. The clouds were fantastic for spotting things today and Beck's smile brightened as she noticed a cloud shaped almost perfectly like a dragon. Pointing up at the sky, she laughed. "Look, Bryce, a dragon! Isn't that-" Beck stopped abruptly as she turned her head, remembering that Bryce wasn't there. Not anymore. Slowly she lowered her arm, her face crumpling in pain at her mistake. Tears slid down her sun-warmed cheeks as she shifted to her side, curling up into a ball against the memories. Without warning, Beck rolled to her knees and stood, sprinting back into the house, her soccerball forgotten where it lay still in the net. The dragon floated sadly by as the clouds drifted.

You have been Accepted
to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Very detailed. And in a place where details are the peanut to my butter,
I'm thrilled to see you here! Just be careful with Beckett's contrasting/conflicting
traits. She can't have a quick temper as well as a good handle on her emotions-
doesn't add up.

I'm looking forward to you developing her into a more distinguised character! C:
