Here you can talk about how you got secitonal leader and if you like or not, or anything about being a sectional leader. I am sectional leader for the clarinet section. I just got picked for this year, and I am excited for it.

Well. I'm not exactly a section leader. I'm Band Captain.
So far, it hasn't been very difficult. But I know once Marching Season starts up again, I'll have a lot more on my plate. Either way, I'm excited.

o.o Im one too~! Honor Gaurd Section Leader, my second year. And for the first three weeks into the practice season I was freaking out! Not enough people >.< Im still one short but its better than three short!

Im a squad leader/squad captain -means I train all newbies how to march
Flute section leader
and finally woodwind captain ^^
Try fitting all that on a letterman lol.
I actually really like it, though the drum captain gets on my nerves.
The only thing I haven't liked about it is people automatically make you out to be the bad guy because your enforcing rules. But hey if I don't who will? The percussionist? Hell no lol.

So I guess I was unofficially deemed trumpet section leader today?
I'm not totally sure yet
but we were in sectionals, and our BD came over to see how we were doing, and I was teaching freshman the whistle calls, and all of our little motions and what not, and one of the other girls in my section was like
"Mr. Wiley, can Wendy PLEASE!!! be the section leader this year, all of the other upperclassmen are idiots and they try to tell us what to do, but we know what we're doing better then they do"
and he was like "hmm *thinks a little* Sure..." *smirk*
then we went on to talk about this one junior *shes a senior this year* who thinks she knows everything, and really doesn't, and how she messed up our half time shows and the parades
and he said he'd take all of that into consideration when writing out all the lists of squads and squad leaders and section leaders and what not
&& it was funny, we were practicing parade marching, and we were in parade rest, and theres this freshman trumpet in the line behind me, and I dont know his name yet, and he kept talking and complaining, and not listening, so i was like "FRESHMAN STOP TALKING!"
and
i found it funny
because I'm cool like that

Very nice! Thats sorta how I got Honor Gaurd Section Leader, lol. Sorta, my Band Director actually-he said to my face that I was Section Leader but then like a week later our American Flag (this girl is so compltely frustrating! its like her entire goal in life is to undermine me in everyway~! *would like to march her into a canyon and run*) went to him and asked about it and then said that he said he never said that and I was lying. I mentioned it to my band director and it proved true, he completely stabbed me in the back! So then I went to the Color Gaurd Director in which our Band Director (he is like brand freaking new to teaching and junk, not to mention military and a jock so he can be SO much fun) "appointed" as in charge of Honor Gaurd this year, even though he turns around and tells us to do junk anyway! But anyway, so i went to the CG Director and she, being in charge of HG gave me the position back-plus like everyone else (except like five stupid people) in the band sees me as an SL anway cause Im the only one in HG who has done ANYTHING to improve it in the last 2 years!..............Ok I started venting a bit there, sorry >.< I JUST got back from practice, thats probably why, heh

=D Panda's flute section leader this year.
All her friendsies that also tried out are currently pissed at her though because evidently they think I got this position because I have a vast vocabularly.
Bah.
I laugh at them because they actually thought they would get it with the way they ALWAYS talk on the feild. One girl was overly moody and would have scared the Freshman shitless next year, and the other girl would have been a dictator and basically targetted the freshman or anybody that started to get better than her.
Haha hahaha.
It's pretty awesome though. I finlly have a say in things. I can FINALLY TELL THE FLUTES TO SHUT THEIR LITTLE MOUTHS NOW! Because they never stop talking.
