http://oz.ongameport.com/Peer close enough at this Korean 'game' of "Finding Unexpected Happiness" and you'll see where Gaia might go in a couple of years' time... a)cheapo 3D graphics! b)creepy avatars! c)clothes! d)gold! e)fishing! f)love finding! If you need more convincing, here's some screenshots..  look a girl! LOOK A GIRL In the name of research, yours truly got into this... thing. Registration's the most convulted ever (write something about your... face? smoking habits? what the ********?), the 'game' itself is... shite. The fishing's tedious beyond belief, and it involves those prerendered backdrops a'la Resident Evil. Same control system too. Not to mention it's full of kids...

I have a feeling Gaia will keep its self in the faux 3D and fully 2D realm. It will fight hard like FIGHTERS... or something =/

Is it just me, or is there something really phallic or suggestive about that second image with all the fishing lines bobbing in front of that one woman?

I kind of agree with BRW. The Gaia Admins wouldn't jump to 3D, they'd keep it 2D and Flashbased.
This game looks like trash though. Second Life-styled trash.

You don't know internet horror until you've been in SECOND LIFE Furry ********. No idea what they were doing on top of each other.  It's all pretty normal. Except for the flying wolf peeing all over the big headed cat  CYBERSECKS, HOW VERY AROUSING.

Back when Second Life fiiiiirrrrst came out, I actually got me an account on there. It was fun for a while flying around and making stuff, but then.... the weirdness began. Now I almost NEVER go on Second Life. It scares and/or scars me way too much.

Good god. It's so addicted to online relationships, I'm not even going past the first page.
BTW, I think GAIA will stay 2D, especially with the "Fighting System" coming out who-knows-when.

What posesses coders to create such utter garbage? Those last three images looks like some cheap a** 3D pr0n rendered back in '99. I'm so glad I've never had anything to do with that online project.

The beauty (well, OK it's pretty horrific... but anyway) of Secondlife is that all of that is user made. The developers created a vast expanse of wasteland, some crappy 3D models that look straight out of Poser, and a set of 3D model and scripting tools for users to create content. You want to have huge boobs? Go make 'em. You want a huge tower shaped like a p***s? Buy a plot of land via real money, then off you go, make your tower and stuff it with badly animated sex animation triggers.
That way Linden Labs (the actual developers) can step back, look at their own Frankenstein monster, and give a satisified as a single tear falls from their eye as their creation generates even more profit.
