My mum is against the DivaCup too. Which is why I bought one when she was away. wink
I absolutely love it though. No worries, not messy, can't feel it. It's perfect, and so much more comfortable and reliable than anything else you could use. Not to mention that it's so earth-friendly. The DivaWash that you can buy for it is lovely too. Also eco-friendly, it doubles as a face/body wash. Plus, yeah, way more economical for me as I'm heading off to university.

I use the diva cup and reusable pads. Reason being, my cramps are so bad on the first day of my period that I can't have the diva cup in there, the pads work well and everything is dandy.
The diva cup is great, I always had a problem with how tampons smelled and thought that it was me, but after using the diva cup I know it wasn't me that smelled or period blood at all, it just smells like blood. There's something about tampons and pads that are gross and smell bad when they're not dry.

I have reusable pads. I love them.
I agree that disposable products get a really funky smell. They also irritate my skin sometimes.
