Carol hummed as she wandered through the mall, holding one of the boys' hands in each of hers. Chloe had needed a day off, and it was a good enough reason to get away from Abigail. The bitter old coot insisted that the mall "would be the death of her" and had thus stayed home to further irritate sweet Chloe. Her protective instinct over her daughter had kicked in momentarily, but she knew well enough that for all of Abigail's grumping she wasn't likely to say anything off color. For the time being she was just content to spend some time with her grandsons.

"Want!" Todd shouted as he broke away from his Gramma's grip, plastering himself to a toy store window. He was staring at a train set, chugging along at a wonderous centimeter per second. The pudgy old woman paused only momentarily, glancing at Cary, who remained silent at her side. "I don't think your mother would like me buying you boys a bunch of things," she told the stubborn boy, attempting to coax him back into the safety of her coat tails. Todd, despite his size, wasn't going to come easy. Instead he bolted into the store, burying himself in a pile of stuffed animals. "Want me get?" Cary asked obediently, looking up at her for a signal. "He'll come out when he wants to," Carol conceded, "Till then hows about you and me find you something to play with?"

Unlike Carol, Tammuz bought his boys plenty of things, and he loved doing so. Hopefully, they wouldn't end up spoiled because of it, or rather, hopefully Zavier wouldn't. Gideon didn't seem the type to take anything for granted. Currently, the tall, dark hair and eyed man carried the more rambunctious twin, Zavier, in one arm, his other wrapped around Callee's waist.

The curly haired boy had less hair to pull, that way. As they entered the shop, they passed an older woman with a small boy by her side, and being the gentleman he was, Tammuz smiled in greeting. "Good afternoon, Ma'am, how are you today?" He knew that twin boys weren't the easiest to control, and his gaze was warm as he left Zavier scramble down his body to stare at the toys.

Gideon, with his mother, gave Carol a watchful look before letting his dark eyes move on to Cary, then Todd amongst the animals. He wasn't exactly playful, but...

Callee was just happy to have the day to spend with Tammy and the boys! Adlai had kidnapped Enki and his little sister to a friends house and so their parents thought it best to go out. Socialization was good, wasn't it? The redhead always thought so. She was leaning on her fiance quite cheerfully, one arm holding her son firmly close to her.

Tam was so squishy. Making nice and polite with random people. She still found it a little bit... odd, but Tammuz was never the most normal of men. He was sweet and darling and awfully intense at times but that wasn't exactly normal.

"Zav, darling, you shouldn't -" Oh, too late. Her son was scurrying down Tams body and gleeing at the large pile of stuffed things. A stuffed giraffe was captured and pressed against his chest, wide eyes staring at Todd. This was another baby! Lookit!

Zavier twisted around to wave the giraffe at his brother, pointing at Todd with a little chubby finger. "Lookit!"

Carol flashed a smile, urging Cary forward with one hand to go meet the boy who was now standing triumphantly over Todd. "Well, I was one twin short, but one of yours seems to have found him for me," she laughed. Todd buried himself further in the animals, making a rippling wave of plush as he traveled across the display. The longer it took Gramma to find him the longer he would have to find the perfect toy. And unlike Grandmere, Gramma never said no. "Shhh," he hissed, peeking his head out of the toys, "I'm hidin." Cary took more interest in Gideon and his parents, staring up at them wide-eyed. Gramma had told him not to talk to strangers, but she had already talked to them, so they must not be strangers anymore. Instead of saying anything he merely plucked the pacifier from around his neck and offered it up to the other quiet boy, peace for those with crazy brothers.

Gideon blinked at Cary, measuring the offer, and then firmly patted his mother's shoulder, signaling to her. Another finger pointed down at the ground. He didn't speak much. Of course, child development experts said that was a sign of intelligence.

Thinking, the redhead wondered if he had anything of equal value to offer. Ah, yes. A delicious bottle of milk, with a big "G" on it was taken from it's holder on the outside of Callee's baby-bag.

A trade would be made!

Tammuz grinned, handsome and good natured. "Zavier and your hiding little boy seem to be of similar stock." A pause, and he thought to introduce himself. "I'm Tammuz Burdock, this is my wif--fiance, Callee Gallagher, and these are our boys. The redhead is Gideon Mathias, and the curly haired one is Zavier."

Callee didn't put her son down right away, oh no. She wore long and flowy skirts 98% of the time and, so, she crouched down and put him on the ground lightly. She had never been good with children (and, her kids would later admit, had made a good deal of errors in judgement while raising them) but she liked them! She did! So she spent time with them.

"Already a charmer." Callee grinned, her hand fluffing at the hair as bright as her own before her head canted to watch the children near the stuffed animals.

Zavier paused at the hiss and his little face screwed up with a pout. No talking? Why couldn't he talk? He liked talking! Talking was good. He almost whined and instead twisted once more to face his brother in protest. The giraffe was waved again but, this time, Zavier instead gave his father a beaming smile. Daddy understood!

And he squirmed into the pile of stuffies. Wheeee!

It was then that Callee glanced up and realized that introductions were being made. Her lips pulled into a little smile as she stood and extended her hand in greeting. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

The old woman smiled, setting one hand lightly on Cary's head as she took Callee's with the other. "Carol Ashford, these are my daughter Chloe's sons. The one in the pile is Todd, and this little angel is Cary." Todd was oblivious to the introductions, now happily trying to dodge Zavier in the stuffies. "Cause," he whispered a bit too loudly to be secretive, "We isn't apposed to be in here. S'not allowed." Those were certainly words he'd heard more than enough times to parrot, and as confrontational as he was he still liked this new boy more than his goody two shoes brother. Cary glanced up at his grandmother before turned back to Gideon, making a distinct sigh as he dug into his pockets for something more fitting to be exchanged. After all, a binky wasn't as good as fresh milk. Ah! Flashing a soft smile he withdrew a baggie of half crushed animal crackers.

Gideon was not a chubby boy, however, he was a sturdy, large toddler. One could tell he would end up just as tall and broad-shouldered as his father, even at his young age. Because of this, he adored food. Taking his time, he made sure he was aware of Zavier's location before toddling over to Cary and Carol. His calm, soothing smile appeared as he recognized the crackers and his dark eyes traveled up to view Carol.

Perhaps he'd inherited it from his father, but it would be rude not to share, so he offered the bottle up to the grandmother to partake from, if she willed.

Tammuz grinned at the boy's actions, then placed both large hands on Callee's shoulders, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "I'll go keep an eye on the trouble-makers, alright?"

A moment later and he was kneeling by the stuffed animal pile, a huge grin on his face. "Nice giraffe, Zav... Does Todd like any animal in particular?"

Callee was all but glowing at that kiss, watching as her children and lover played with the other children and other - well. Not another lover. SOme other person. But she was a kind woman and her children were cute, so it was alright.

"Right, Tammy. You have -lovely- grandchildren. They're adorable."

Zavier peered at Todd curiously, grabbing at a stuffie and using it as a bulldozer, complete with the bulldozer 'brrrrrr' noise. He was a toddler! Bulldozer was fun! "So? N'possa! BRRRRR!"

It was then that Callees cell began to ring. Rather, it was a phone Tammuz had purchased when she had gotten pregnant and had given to her just in case Jem got a little too hyper for her own good. But, it was hers! And it was ringing.

The redhead plucked it from her hip and answered with a little chirp. The voice on the other hand was calmed, although hurried, and Callee went pale. The lack of blood showed her freckles in stark relief and she grabbed at Tammuz quickly.

"Adlai lit a candle and Kane set her fur on fire by accident!" Her voice was high, shrill, and Zavier was abruptly plucked up and shoved into his fathers arms. Gideon was grabbed into her own. "We have to go, he's taking her all to the hospital - I, I'm sorry, ma'am. Our daughter - Tammy, we have to go!"

Without waiting for an answer, Callee was carrying her son out as quickly as she could.

Tammuz was just behind, realizing that Ravji, their teenager, must've called in the emergency. Still, he paused briefly to hand his business card with contact information to the grandmother, so that their offspring could meet up later.

After that, he was out the door.
