I bought into this company's bass line, specificelly the stiletto elite with almost no physical experience, other then a quck 30 min session with a stiletto custom, and the majority of reviews about their guitars. What I had hurd about them was all good though, and the few people I found to play them had nothing but good praise so I bought the SOB, for 400 bucks, and I have to say it seems prity nice to me good tone, nice features, looks good, great sustain, and resonance though out. the active system is prity nice as well, and lets you mix up the sound a lot... so I have to ask do you guys think that schecter may be closing in on some of the big guys, or maybe they just have some gems in their collection of glass knock offs. What is your opion on shecter basses?

What do you mean by big guys? Big companies like Fender and Gibson? Popular bass brands like Warwick and Rickenbacker? To me Schecters are fine, they seem to play like Ibanez's, which isn't a bad thing. But they don't have the name power in bass to make them a "Big Guy". They're more well known for their guitars.

I'm getting one this summer. Stiletto extreme 4. I tried it out twice and loved it. I find it just way more confortable than most fenders or ibanez's. People say that Schecters basses arent as good as thier guitars but i would have to dissagree. It just has the perfect sound and feel for the music we do.

I don't think schecter makes a 6 string ibanez, they do make a 6 stringe stiletto custom though, and maybe an elite.

I played a Stiletto on numerous occasions. Always a 5-string, for I don't go on without one.
I have to say, it was a pretty nice bass. I'd love to get one someday. Though I love my Ibanezes so much more. I play BTBs.

Those are my two BTBs. ^_^

they're all ok basses that play good, look good, and feel nice to wear but they're all the same, they lack a lot of the older style so if you're into vintage sound you're sh*t out of luck. it's not that their basses are bad to play, but they'll never replace the big names like fender or gibson or whatever because they don't have the larger market.

i like the stileto's they play good, it's a good intermediate bass for pretty damn cheap. i got a c-4 myself, but that's my taste. and schecter's guitars are amazing as well, especially the synister gate's model.

Schecter is a great company overall. Their main lines of guitars and basses play great without the huge price tag that comes with names like Fender, Gibson, etc.

Personally, i dig schecter, but it is no match for all the really great basses, like Music Man, or Rickenbacer. Schecter Is really nice, I looked at one, and it felt really good too, but it didn't give me enough boom and thump for other stuff like slapping. Schecter is good for metal, I am a fender kid really, but Fender is so generic it hurts. Schecter's are beauties too. I love the blood red satin stain. The tone's great, but wasn't what I was looking for....

I'm planning on getting a Stiletto Custom-4 for X-mas. I played it in a music store, and it was really nice. Plus, that natural satin finish is just sexy.

I've noticed after a lot more exprience with these basses, that they would probably sound better with a different set of P'ups, I'll probably get a tech to help me with that though, the wiring diagram for their electronics is beyond me.
