This is going to seem a little biased, coming from a 70 resto shaman. And I've never played a druid healer. I do play my friend's moonkin once in a while.
Anyways, as a shaman healer, I've never run out of mana, and I top meters. Chain Heal is arguably the best group heal in the game. Being a resto shaman, you can pick which guild you want due to the lack of us. And, we have a lot of the best group buffs in the game. I mean sure, Mark of the Wild is nice, but Wrath of Air, Grace of Air, Strength of Earth, Windfury, etc. are much better IMO.Plus Bloodlust. Amazing on fights that are considered DPS races. And Earthshield is very nice.
Now on the DPS side, Shamans win again. Elemental, although VERY boring, is better than a moonkin, I do believe. And Enhancement is an amazing DPS spec that supports the rest of your melee DPS (Windfury is amazing for Rogues and Warriors) But, if you wanna tank, Druid is the way to go.
I hoped this helped.

Arena: Druid. Practically impossible to cc.
BG: Enhance shaman (I hate healing, and everyone who asks me to heal)
PvE: Well now...that's the trick there. Both are amazing.
Here's the thing, play both and see what clicks with you the best, for me it's shaman, that class just seems to totally make sense to me. Sure I can still tear faces off with a druid, but I can't do nearly the same amount of dps.
You also have to decide what kind of player you are, do you like range dps? Melee? Healing? Do you enjoy tanking? To ask someone to tell you which is better is really a horrible question, we'd have to know what kind of player you are and what you're comfortable with doing.

I didn't actually ask which one is better, if you look in my first post (I think), I asked about the play styles of each talent tree. I have a really chaotic play style, if that helps. It would be really cool to be one of those guys on AB who fights for five minutes straight, and is only at 50% health.

You'd love droods... just imagine fighting in AB w/o dying.... ever... with everyone coming after you... at once.... and you can sit and throw a /lol at them from time to time. Also, it's extremely chaotic. You, my friend, are a resto drood.
Hella hard to level though.

Edward Lock Hmm, good points, how good is a balance or resto Druid for leveling? Balance is a good leveling spec. To be honest I leveled my druid feral thinking I'd have her as a tank. But since we have so many feral druids, I went resto for a bit and...loved it. So now I have two healers...

Want to scare the hell out of someone in PVP? Have a enhancement shaman with weapons that have mongoose enchants. Pop bloodlust, drop any totem you want, which you shouldn't drop any, and just carve a path. Get a shaman, it's fun, it's hip, and you make 10-year olds cry.

druids become really powerful if you decide to be feral combat. and if you get you skills in proper order you could even become a druid tank.
shammies, from experience, get really weak come level 70

Kitty druids scale badly sad They're awesome for leveling with, but once you hit 70 you're easily out dmged/dpsed by pretty much any other dps class/spec you can think of. Its better, at 70, to go either resto, balance (I lol at this one too but tbh they're pretty good so its up to you) or beartank. In raiding and pvp, its better to be any of those (I'd suggest against bear for pvp though, there are better options if you decide to go pvp). Any and every raiding guild you'll ever find LOVES a good resto or bear druid. Resto is also lolfunny in arena. I know a resto druid who, in treeform, moonfired/melee'd (yes, melee'd) a t6 geared prot warrior in a duel to death. This resto druid was also, at the time, 12 years old. Its not exactly hard, lmao.
Shaman only suck at 70 if you don't know what the ******** you're doing. A good shammy player will rock the 70s hardcore. Trouble is that an incredibly small percentage of the shammy population actually know what they're doing.
