I thought I would make a thread where people could post music suggestions or any music that they got into recently.
To start off the thread, I have been in my stage of finding new music and today I found 3 bands that caught my interest.

Mirah
[if you like Tegan and Sara you could possibly like this girl]

The Mountain Goats
[more leaning towards the folk sound of music, but still rather good, not something you could put on for background noise, something you would have to sit down and really listen to.]

Beach House
[dream pop]

"Explosions in the Sky" has been the latest addiction - they do ambient, instrumental work with no lyrics. Their site is http://www.explosionsinthesky.com and there's a free album for download there called "The Rescue."

If any of you are into classical music, look up a blog written by a man named Paul Cantrell. He should have free mp3 recordings of his own playing, and his rendition of Chopin's Ballade No. 3 is really very, very good.

Hmm, well, I just recently got into "dark" sounding music.
Almost gothic, but still is pretty.
And nothing that's hard/screamo. Eck.

For one, "The Rasmus", has always been a favorite.
They're a Finland band, and I would probably categorize them as...
Alternative/Rock, with a hint of that "mysterious" sound.

I'm into that kindof "girly rock" scene recently. I'm an avid fan of the Plain White T's, and Paramore.

I just recently came across the band Dear Juliet.
They're stuff is mainly acoustic, and there's piano in a couple of songs, they're pretty mellow.
