Harkewt
this may bring about a huge discussion on whether or not this is true but what
The Lord of the Rings...
Its already on the list Harkewt...
[Edit] Or at least I thought I was... mm... maybe more debate is due. I've also heard the parallel between Gandalf the Grey/White and God... because whenever they run into trouble Gandalf swoops in, and saves them... not to mention he sacrificed himself to the balrog, to make sure Frodo and the group could continue their quest...
I have added your suggestion to the list joekuslow28...
Although I don't object to Tolkien at all, I would have to argue it going on the Christian Movie list ... keyword there being "Christian". Sure, there's a few questionable movies on our list (the modernized, sanitized versions of Narnia), but at least the original stories were intended as Christian allegories. Not so with Tolkien's tales.
Oh, sure, there's some good points to the movie, a few parallels, but ... frankly, you could draw similar parallels with old Star Wars, with Obi-Wan sacrificing himself so the others could escape, then coming back as a Force-ghost to "advise" Luke. Doesn't make it a Christian movie.
But that's just my opinion. Hey, you wanted debate; there 'tis.
==========
Did a little digging on "Hidden Secrets", and found this excerpt from a Wiki article.
Quote:
On October 6, 2006, "Hidden Secrets," a film touted as the Christian version of The Big Chill (film) debuted with Rachel Lampa starring as "Sally." Her co-stars included John Schneider (television actor) of The Dukes of Hazzard fame. Lampa performed four songs for the movie: "When I Fall," "The Good Life," "No Other One," and "The Art."
That's all I got. The movie itself doesn't have an entry, just this comment on the Rachel Lampa page.
Now, I haven't seen the movie myself -- never heard of it before, in fact -- but if she's doing four songs on the soundtrack as well as starring in the thing, it sounds like less of a movie and more of a vehicle for her career. But, I admit, I'm a cynic.
