I know there are a lot of theads out there on various websites about the first boss fight in Sunwell Plateu, Kalecgos, but I was wondering if anyone has done it personally that can answer some of my questions.

Okay, so first going off when we were getting the portal rotation down there was times where it would seem he wouldn't cast the first portal when he was supposed to, so the whole raid was taking more arcane deduffs then we were supposed to. Is there a reason for this? Ex: Totems, pets?

Second, how many and what tanks do other people use? The last attempt we did when we nearly killed him it was two warriors and myself ( Druid ). But I've heard some people do it with four tanks and try to have them all Warriors because when the enrage hits at 10% they need to sheild wall.

Lastly, when in the portal relm with the demon, which way do most people tank it? We've always had the tanks go and stanf on the good NPC ( human Kalecgos ) and all DPS on the demons a**. Last night we had the dragon from to 3% and the Demon to 2%, but when inside with the enrage even though I had aggro from the demon, when he decided to do his Shadow volly or whatever the fack it is and killed the human inside mear seconds before we would have killed the damn thing. Question is, if in the enrage or the rest of the time have the demon at another angle so he dosn't wack on the NPC as much, But then I realize that the raid inside will have to adjust so they're not getting killed with the AOE when he's targeting the current tank or NPC.

Thoughts?

Might want to check out Bosskillers.com for tips on that fight.

I've read those, and we've tried it following their strats, but for some reason we're still having some problems in certian areas that we can't find answers for.
Thats why I was asking if anyone else has done it personally.

We've only killed Kalecgos 5 or 6 times now, and I can only tell you what I see from my perspective. I'm a resto shaman, so almost all of my attention is focused on grid, totems, and keeping my mana from bottoming out.

The only reasons we've seen for portals not spawning is because the person who was targeted to get the portal was standing in the bushes (or just too close to them) that surround Kalec's platform. It really screws the fight and we basically call it a wipe as soon as we realize it happened.

My guild uses 3 tanks. 2 warriors and a druid, or 1 warrior and 2 druids, depending on who's available.

In the shadow realm, our tank will stand next to Kalecgos, wait for enough healers to be in the realm with him, then call out when he's going to taunt so healers know when to start precasting big heals on him. Everyone else just spreads out in a half circle behind the demon, but close enough together so that chain heals can reach everyone.

As far as what goes on during the enrage... I'll be damned if I know razz At that time I have heroism up and I'm spamming chain heals as fast as I can.

We use 3 tanks. Can either be 2 druids and a warrior, or 2 warriors and a druid, just varies for us.

Totems and pets do not effect who is ported into the spectral realm. Standing by the bushes, however, has the possibility of doing so.

If Kalecgos is dying, you need to either step up your dps, or have the demon tanked more.
