She whined and hopped back up, hearing a chuckle behind her.
"Silly Maddy. It's not going anywhere; you'll have plenty of time to see everything. All in good time." A quick ruffle of her short ears and her Mother was gone, off to sit on a bench to relax and watch the pup explore and have fun.
Today there were many different dogs at the park, of all different shapes, sizes, and colors. Most of all, colors. Her eyes had never seen the like! Pinks, purples, greens, blues...all seemed beautiful and so eye-popping! Some were playing frisbee with their owners. Some were resting and enjoying a nice ear scratch from a child cooing over them. And Maddy? She simply stood there, tail wagging furiously, not know what to do or who to meet first.

He was prehaps one of the more brightly colored puppies in the park. With bright hues of greens and oranges covering his amazing golden pelt. He looked much like a dancer as his paws seamed to barly touch the ground with each step. He was in his element- the wild. Or that was what his mind thought as he took to sneaking away from his owner.
She'd be too busy with the other dogs to notice me. He giggled barreling forward with a playful kind of innocince. Though his mom could see everywhere that he was going. She'd just let him have the benifit of the doubt for the moment.
It was then that the bright purple eye'd pup stammered into another dog about his own age. She wasn't colorful- but he had to admit; her markings were pretty darn cool. And with an impish bow strod forwards towards her without a hint of hesitation.
"I'm Alegria! And you?" His tail wagged a mile a minute behind him, almost as if he were going to take off any second.

Maddy fell down again, this time landing on her rump, at the sudden appearance of a brightly-colored pup. He was about her age and just as friendly, bursting with energy and excitement. He spoke his name, but all she could think of saying back was blurted out:
"You're pretty!"
And then she covered her mouth with a paw, almost comically, at calling a boy 'pretty.' No, Maddy, she corrected herself. Boys were handsome.
"I mean, you're handsome. I like your fur! My name's Madeline, but you can call me Maddy if you want."
Her tail began to go a mile a minute as well, having made her first new friend.

He spun about and giggled not at all seaming bothered by the ill use of the word pretty. Slightly vien he'd never turn down a compliment. "And your pretty too!" He blurted out from his own hyper active mouth paws bearly touching the earth.
"MaddyMaddyMaddy!" He smiled at her and then walked over to her side and put a paw on it playfully. "You like tag?" His eyes darted back and forth to make sure nobody else was in listening range. "I like to eat bugs." He split his lips in antagonistic smile. "You should try it...the fun is catching them more then eatting them...they really don't taste all that good."
He stuck his tounge out in his one sided conversation. He was too excited to see if she was following his mind set.

She giggled too at his fast-paced antics. "Thank you!" she said for the returning compliment. She was halfway through her nod of saying, 'Yes, I like to play tag!' when he suddenly switched topics and mentioned eating bugs. Her face turned into a grimace.
"Yuck! Eating bugs? Catching them is fun. But why don't you let them go instead of eating them? That way you don't eat them all and then have nothing to play with."
"Do you wanna play a game or something? We could play tag! Or..." she trailed off, standing up on all fours again. There was so much to play! But so little ideas of what to play! Tag, explorers, hide and seek...

"Well I don't TRY to eat them- but bugs aren't really all that bright...and numerous times they think that your thought is your mouth and visa versa- though sometimes I just like the buzzing they make on the way down." He giggled strangely. "It tickles." He made another sharp chuckle then changed the topic becoming quite embarssed at his weird taste for bugs.
He couldn't be happier when she actully changed the subject. It couldn't have been better timing in reality. Finally the red flushed from his cheaks and he nodded at her. "Oh tag yes! Or you have another game? I love games!" With another soft bound in his step he circled her with his collie enthusiam.

Maddy raised an eyebrow at his claim of being 'tickled' when a bug buzzed down his throat, but she quickly forgot it when he jumped--literally--at the chance to play a game. She loved games, too. It was her favorite thing to do.
Other than being pet, of course. Oh, and food. Food was good. Those new treats her owner had gotten were really, really good, too...
What were they talking about? Games. Oh yeah.
"I like tag. I like tag, I like hide and seek, I like frisbee...there are lots of games to choose from. What's your favorite?" Her tongue hung out in excitement, her eyes following his every movement with curiosity and readiness.

"You know I never really thought about my favorite game...I rather liked them all." Another large sloppy grin seamed to beam from his collie mouth. "Though I suggest we play them all- then maybe I can pick!" He nodded as if he thought it was possible to play all the 'real' games and all the ones he had buzzing threw his mind in 'make believe' world.
He then playbowed at her with his body never stopping. "So is it tag first? Or frisbee? I know my owners got one. We can bug her for that...or play tug of war with our leashes." For a few seconds he grinned malisiously. "I love tug of war!"

"Hm. How about frisbee first? And then we can play tug-a-war!" She bounced up and down a few times, in place, before jogging toward the person she assumed was his owner. She kind of wished her owner would bring toys, too, but she was too worried that Maddy would hurt herself if given big, heavy toys. The kind that she always wanted to play with at the pet store, too.
But maybe next time she could get a frisbee, or a little ball to play with. That would be fun. And she could play with her new friend, too!

Alegris's owner looked down to the two small puppies at her feet. She could tell that her little boy had found himself a friend and with a hand patted Maddy warmly on the head. Then turning she pulled out several toys from her back for the two. "Your little friend can keep one if she wants!" She smiled and patted her own puppy on the head.
The multi-colored dog yipped with happyness and pure joy at that thought. His owner was so generous and with that nudged a ball to be thrown that seamed to have landed at his paws with a 'thwunk' before hand. Taking the gesture her owner then picked up the ball and threw it for the two to chase after.
And with that the colored pup was on his way.

Maddy's eye never left the ball. Her feet flew faster than she thought possible as she raced Alegria down the grass, heading towards where the ball had landed.
"I got it, I got it!" she yipped, zeroing in.
But then, it wasn't there.
She slammed to a halt, confused. It had been there a second ago. Where was it? She swiveled her head to glance at Alegria and found the ball: he had gotten there first, and he was happily carrying it back to his owner. She grinned, surprised but happy, and trotted forward, anticipating the next throw.
She could do this. It wasn't so hard, as long as she stayed back far enough so she had a better chance of getting the ball.
Alegria's owner chucked it her way; her eyes followed it as it zoomed closer, closer...over her head, and finally landed a few feet behind her. With a happy bark she pounced it, wagging her tail and slobbering all over her prize.
