The day was beautiful. The sky was clear blue, not a dark cloud in sight. The sun made the air hot but with the cooling wind blowing the heat was not so bad. A small little Spira with a sea green fur and blue stripes could be seen skipping around the tall grass. From the air it would look like a snake slithering through the grass. Though it really was this small and adorable creature that was pouncing back and forth quickly through the grass.
At one point the Spira stopped and glanced out and around. Its large orange like eyes blinking and hiding a sneaky look behind them. It seemed eager to run about and hide. It was a sneaky little thing, and it was fast moving in and other of the tall grass. Once it stopped it was under the shade of a large oak tree.
Panting it looked around some more. A sad expression forming on its face. Once more it looked around again. Finding nothing it sighed. It seemed to be looking for something. What it was no one really knew.

Izzie took off at an excited run through the tall grass. Though he and his human friend had initially had a bit of trouble communicating, they were getting better, and this time the message was clear; 'don't go too far' and 'don't traumatize any more squirrels'. Izzie chuckled to himself as he picked his way through the grass, remembering his encounter with a squirrel a few days earlier. "I'm sure traumatizing them is okay. Just as long as I only traumatize them to the edge of their sanity and not any further." He grinned deviously and added, "I like squirrels."
Upon reaching the edge of the grass, he poked his head out and began to look for the bushy tail that would unmistakably be a squirrel. What he saw, however, was not something brown and poofy, but instead something green and blue striped, sitting at the base of the tree and facing the opposite way. "Not a squirrel," he frowned, but then smiled, "but maybe just as interesting as one!"
Izzie crept out of the grass and towards the base of the tree until he was only a few feet behind this new discovery. As he was creeping around the trunk of the tree so he could be seen, an image came to his mind. It was a memory of his human friend that she had shared with him, in which one of her friends was saying hello to her. Izzie had liked the cheerful way of greeting people this friend had, so he decided to imitate him. Giving a big smile, Izzie walked up and said "Hello hello!" in the most cheerful, trilling voice he could manage.

The green and blue striped Spica jumped. His ears giving a violent twitch. What was that noise? It turned to see a creature that appeared similar to himself. Blinking its orange like eyes it tilted his head. Though within no time a smile appeared on its muzzle. He ran up close and it was clear he was full of joy.
You are like me are you not?! When it spoke no sound came from its mind but what he said could be heard within the head of the other. His small tail was wagging behind it rapidly. It was glad to have one like itself. Since until this time he only had his human companion. Since it was an adult it knew and understood the english language. The problem was that it didn't speak it, expect for a few words here and there. Mostly it used its telepathy.
My name is Hikaru. Whats yours young one?? Hikaru started to circle the younger one sniffing at it a bit. It still had that cheerful look in its eyes. Even his small wings where fluttering a bit with excitement.

Izzie's grin grew bigger when he heard the other's voice in his head. His appearance and the fact that he could use telepathy signaled to Izzie that he was a Spica, too. Responding with telepathy, Izzie said, "Hikaru! I like that name! My name's Izzie, and it's a pleasure to meet you!" His tail, ears and wings began to twitch a little with excitement as he stood and watched Hikaru circle him.
"Yay! I've finally found someone to play with who isn't a squirrel! Those squirrels are fun to play with and all, but they get really boring once you chase them a lot. After awhile they escape up a tree and just stare at you like you're some psychotic creature come to kill them. Squirrels are a little strange, don't you think?"

Hikaru glanced at the other oddly when he mentioned the squirrels. He remember seeing them but never really bothered. Squirrels to Hikaru were far to stupid to really be bothered with, at least for him. So he just shrugged at Izzie. After all he thought to himself, Izzie was young and was playful. Not that Hikaru wasn't but he had standards.
Well Izzie I'm glad you like my name and I like yours too. Though I must say that while I have seen squirrels I never really bothered much with them. Hikaru then smiled. He realized that he now had someone to play hide and seek with. Oh this would be fun. He started to grinned almost evilly but quickly he returned back to a more softer smile.
So Izzie you like to play right? Want to play a really fun game with me? Hikaru's tail was swishing back and forth madly. He loved to hide. It was his favorite thing to do. He did it all the time with his human companion. Now he had someone else to play with and to hide from. He would definitely have fun.

"Ooh, what kind of game?" Izzie asked in eager anticipation. He didn't get a chance very often to play games with anyone other than his human friend, and this was the first time he'd ever met a creature like himself. He was full of curiosity about what this game could be.

Hikaru's smile widen and he jumped for joy. He would get to hide! He loved this idea very much.
Well alright. You close your eyes and count to 20. Then I go hide and you need to find me. Hikaru said eagerly. Oh this would be great. Of course he was very good at hiding and wondered if he should go easy on the younger Spica. Of course he decided he would not. Jumping about a bit, he stopped and looked at Izzie.
Turn around close your eyes and start counting!

Izzie recognized this game; his human friend had tried to teach him how to play once before, but he had been a terrible hider. Had he not been overcome by the overwhelming urge to giggle every time she was looking for him, then maybe he would've been more successful... This time he was glad to be doing the seeking.
"All right!" Izzie agreed, quickly spinning around, lying on the ground, and covering his eyes with his front paws. "One... two..."

Hikaru jumped and grinned. He made a lot of noise running around. Until finally he could be heard entering the tall grass. He could be heard for a while before it stopped. It was then that Hikaru emerged on the other side. He smiled at the young Spica who was still counting. Then as skillful as could be, he started to climb the tree. Oddly enough he managed to be very quiet. Then once up top he camouflaged himself among the leaves. He grinned for a moment then closed his eyes remaining hidden in the leaves.
He wondered how long it would take Izzie to find him.

"Eighteen... nineteen... twenty! Ready or not, here I come!"
Izzie jumped to his feet and whirled around to face the tall grass. He'd heard Hikaru go in there and was positive that that was where he would find him. Izzie plunged into the grass and began to run around with no particular searching strategy, positive he'd find the green spica in no time.

Orange eyes peered out from behind the leaves as Hikaru watched the orange colored Spica disappear into the glass. He chuckled softly to himself. Izzie fell for his trap. This wasn't the first time he had tricked the seeker. He always did this with his human companion. Fake going one way and really hide in the other direction. He watched the orange Spica move about the grass. When Izzie would come close to the tree he would close his eyes and blend once more into the leaves. He wondered if would have to reveal himself after a while. He doubted the other would find him.

After awhile of searching and finding no Hikaru, Izzie came out of the tall grass looking puzzled. He sat back on his hind legs to think for a minute, looking around at his surroundings, trying to think of somewhere Hikaru could've gone. With a sudden "I know!", he ran towards a group of berry bushes a little ways off, but again didn't find Hikaru there.
"You're a pretty good hider, Hikaru, but I'm not gonna give up yet." he said more to himself than anyone as he walked back to the base of the tree where, unknown to him, Hikaru was hiding. A pair of birds flew into the tree, and for a moment Izzie watched them, but then turned his gaze back towards the ground to continue his search.

Hikaru couldn't help grin as he heard Izzie. This was definitely fun. He backed up a bit to watch the birds. They seemed to have a nest near by. He carefully moved away, so as not to anger them. Though it caused a few leaves to slowly float their way down to the ground. He watched the leaves and froze wondering if Izzie would notice. He closed his eyes and started to blend in again. Hikaru figured he was far away from the birds and well hidden enough to keep Izzie still wondering.

Izzie looked perplexedly around him as he walked off towards a small stream trickling it's way between the trees and tall grass. Still seeing no sign of Hikaru, and deciding he had wandered far enough from the place their game had started, Izzie turned around and once again returned to the base of the tree.
"Darn, you're a good, Hikaru," Izzie said with a sigh as he flopped onto the ground. Resting his head on his front paws, he shouted in a voice he hoped Hikaru could here wherever he happened to be hiding. "I give up Hikaru! Please come out!"
