The music scene in Europe is just exploding right now and here we have another import. Her name is Yelle (think 'yeah' and 'elle') and she's an elegant synthpop artist from Bretagne, France. At 25 years old, Yelle is bursting on to the scene with some fierce beats. All of her songs are in French, but her unique charm and electric style simply can't be overlooked. Perhaps she is best known for supplying the soundtrack for a Tecktonik dance video, rapidly spreading on youtube. It's a good preview of what this artist, who's slowly emerging in the United States, has to offer. The fun French lyrics and infectious beats will have you dancing almost instantaneously. The hooks of her songs are incredibly catchy, garnering your attention immediately after the first listen. You'll be suddenly inspired to learn French after one listen of Yelle's debut record, Pop Up.She makes the language sound flowing and gorgeous. Recommendations:"Je Veux Te Voir" - My personal favorite, this song's hook is simply incredible. All the lyrics just flow so well and the beats lay the foundation for this sure-fire hit. If you get any song by Yelle, make sure it's this one. Synth has never sounded better.
