Important Announcement:
We have decided to Close Out most of the regular items in our catalog.
The regular catalog will remain open for about another month, as we liquidate fabric and trim stock.
After that, we will be reopening with a new format and lots of new fabrics and styles -- Click Here for details!
Please Note! The new format will still have items made for all sizes - the sizes will *not* be standard sizes, but will still be custom-fit to each customer
A lot of changes are coming to In the Starlight! We will be closing out our regular catalog items,
then switching to a new system that will feature lots of unique, semi-premade items.

CLOSING OUT THE CURRENT CATALOG:
As of 6/2/08, we have begun to close out our regular catalog items (in other words, the items you now see on our website). Items will be taken out of the catalog as we run out of supplies for them.
For most items, we have enough lace and trim for many more. Mostly, you will see fabric color choices begin to disappear as we run out of those fabrics. See below for a list of our current estimates for each fabric. We will try to update our fabric stock list at least once a week. We will try to remove fabric choices as soon as we run out, but if you happen to order an item we can no longer make, we will contact you and refund your order.
We also had some stock of new print fabrics that we are now offering in several styles - check out the Skirts and Dresses page.
Once our supplies have dwindled, we will close the catalog, then reopen with our new format after a couple of weeks. We don't know exactly when the switch will happen, but our current estimate is that we will close around July 5th and reopen with the new store around July 25th. Check our fabric stock list below to see approximately how much fabric we have left in each color/style.
Please note: We have decided to keep offering the "Underthings" custom-made to order, even after the rest of the current catalog has closed. This means that Petticoats and Bloomers will still be available, custom-made to your measurements. However, we will only offer them in Black and White.

OUR NEW STORE:
We will update with more details later, but here is some basic info about what our new store will look like:
We will pre-make items, photograph them, and offer them as one-of-a-kind or limited edition items on our website. Some items will be one size (such as hairbows or accessories) and some will come in size ranges, and be finished according to the actual size of the buyer.
For example: if we make a skirt with a hem width around 100", we might list it as "suitable for waist sizes 30" to 38". When a customer purchases that skirt, she will tell us her waist measurement, and we will custom-fit the finished product for her. Making items in different size ranges, from Small to XXL, will remain a priority.
There will also be options for custom matching accessories for most skirts and dresses.
With this new format, we will be able to offer many unique styles and fabrics. We will also be able to offer some extra-fancy items with lots of details.Once we switch formats, we will be updating new items once a week.
As mentioned above, Petticoats and Bloomers will still be available, custom-made to your measurements.
Why the switch?
We're changing the store for several reasons: First, we're itching to make lots of new items with a large variety of fabrics. Second, we need a little more flexibility in our schedule -- it's gotten so that we're sewing almost constantly! Leah will be earning a Masters degree and Mara will be simultaneously working on another pursuit, so having mostly-pre-made items will allow us more control of our time. We considered closing the store altogether, but we just couldn't be happy with that - after all, this August will be In the Starlight's Five Year Anniversary!
