Midday. It was hot, bordering unbearable, but thankfully, Kazi had been settled underneath his favorite tree, the shade blocking him from the sun. His cubs had probably wandered off to play, leaving the new father bored (and secretly ecstatic, as it's been a while since he'd had a day of quiet to himself..) with nothing to do. With a yawn he lifted his head, off-white mane getting blown gently by a passing breeze. And it made him wonder why he had ever left the Pridelands to begin with.
The thought bothered him now, as he's never once regretted his decision all those years ago. He left to find the ones responsible for his family's deaths. He had suffered for their sake, he'd been all alone for such a long time. And yet...once he'd finished with that task, the void remained. Until, of course, he'd come back home. So the question remained..
"Hm..." he mused, eyes looking into the distance. "Perhaps an excuse to leave.." he whispered to himself, some rustling nearby going unheard.

She had been growing with a familiar sense of heaviness again in the last few weeks. Cubs, she was pregnant again, and though she thought the statement so blankly she really didn't find it unfavorable. They would be children had between she and her mate, Juhudi, and that made it alright, of course. Besides, Mosi enjoyed being busy and having youth to teach, not that she was old herself. Their first litter had turned out beautifully, Kani moving out on her own and growing up quite strong despite how girly and prissy Mosi used to think she was (Again, not something she faulted. They were just opposites.). She'd born five girls to Bushido, making Mosi and Juhudi grandparents. Then there was Shin who had finally forgiven his sister it seemed, for moving out, and found himself a girl that Mosi approved of whole heartedly. Now, weather or not it would go anywhere romantically was the question. They were good friends, though, and that was satisfying too.
Their second litter, three girls and one boy. One had become a scout, and finally seemed to have taken the most after her mother (Mosi) another had gained her seer abilities, and though their third daughter was an enigma their son was a typical boy through and through. The thought caused Mosi to smirk with amusement, even as she came upon Kazi resting about. She grew wary, but something about the male kept her relaxed, and it wasn't until she'd greeted him that she understood what and why.
"You there... are you a new pride member? Visiting?"
He carried a familiar scent, that of her younger aunt, Xu Wu Hui, Ausi's daughter-- or one of them anyway. Geez, she couldn't walk around these lands without tripping over her relatives or their acquaintances!

His ears perked at the sudden, unfamiliar voice, and though it didn't sound hostile, he tensed up a bit all the same. Green eyes turned to see the enlarged from (particularly around the belly) of a beautiful female, and his muscles laxed and he smiled kindly at her. It wasn't out of the ordinary to run into other lions and lionesses that he didn't know. Any and all friends he'd made when he was still young and living with the pride were probably either dead or had left the pride like him. And even if they hadn't, Kazi had already forgotten their faces..
With a sigh and a nod he replied, "I don't think I fall under either category, strangely enough." The male glaced back at the horizon, thinking on his next words. "And by that I mean...I'm not exactly new, since I was born here, but I left. And I'm not visiting, but more...coming back, after having left for most of my youth."
With another smile he turned his attention back to the femme. "My name is Kazi, by the way."

"Join the club, there seem to be a lot of you leaving and returning. I have a few relatives included that have done the same thing." Mosi commented off handedly. "But you smell like someone I know, Kazi. Rather strongly at that. It just made me wonder is all."
The former head scout eased around until she could lie down as well, facing him, inviting herself for the sit down to talk. Hey, he wasn't pregnant, if he had a problem with her being there-- which so far he didn't seem to even care --then he should do the polite thing and be the one to move. That was if he had a problem, of course, which she didn't know him to or not.
"Mosi, one of the council members." Came her name and introduction a bit... stiffly. She wasn't used to her new title, and it seemed like already she missed being the Head Scout, it sounded much less stuffy! She was glad to be helping as she was now though, she just got her father's tendency to complain and occassionally brood about some things.

Kazi chuckled at comment about his situation. He was sure that there were many others like him wandering about the Pridelands.. It was a huge pride, after all. At the mention of a familiar scent he smiled, thinking back to his mate and their cubs - his family. They were the only ones he spent a lot of time with on a daily basis, so she must've been talking about one of them. And, most likely, it would've been Xu, seeing as the cubs were just born and he doubted that any of them had run into Mosi.
"Familiar?" he asked, a bit of a tilt on his head. "My mate, perhaps," Kazi said, then proceeded to move in order to accommodate the pregnant lioness.
The male nodded at her introduction, smiling kindly. "It's a pleasure then, Mosi," he replied politely. The title was of little significance to him, really. Being new and unsure of what exactly had been happening with the leaders of the pride, it was of little concern to him. Which...probably wasn't a very good thing. But then, he was never good with politics anyway.
Trying to think of a subject, his eyes looked about in search of a topic until they landed on Mosi, and he thought..and then spoke.
"So, will this be your first litter?" he asked, half-hoping the answer would be 'no'. He felt he could use some advice, and who better to ask than an experienced mother?
