Sorry folks, I've been absent again!
Okay, the submission phase is now closed (and since I was gone, punkt's entry counts, even though it was submitted after the deadline). Now we need to figure out how we're going to decide who our winners are. Here's some of the usual options:
1. The mods vote to decide who the winners are.
2. We have some sort of open vote, where all guild members are allowed to help select the winners. Voting would either be done in a new thread (where everyone can see who votes for who), or would be submitted to one of the mods (or the official guild mule). Unfortunately, a poll is out, because we have more than 10 banners to choose from.
I'm open to any additional ideas, btw.
Anyway, let me know what you folks prefer, and in a week (or thereabouts) we'll start selecting our winners and making our new randosig banner! I hope...

Another guild I'm in had a banner contest recently, and had a lot of entries. The one running the contest broke the entries down into groups of about 5 per voting post, and we voted in all of them for our favorite in each one. Then there was a final vote using the winners from each of the earlier voting posts. The winner of that one was the final winner.

Hmm... that's an interesting possibility. The only thing is that we're going to pick more than one winner for the randosig, so we need a mechanism to decide 1st, 2nd, 3rd (...and so on) place. A system where we start with qualifying polls to decide who competes in the final poll runs the risk of the 2nd best picture being eliminated if it starts in the same poll as the best one, unless we take the top 2 (or 3) of each poll instead. (hopefully I said that in a way that makes sense).
What do you think would work best to for our purposes?

Well, in this situation a panel of judges might be the best solution.

No, we haven't forgotten, but we haven't gotten feedback from all the mods yet. At this point we may need to just declare a winner using the votes we've already got (from 6 people, last I checked).

Oh man I feel bad about forgetting about this! I meant to say I was having trouble sending in a vote since I entered so can't vote myself and most of the people I'd usually ask to judge for me have entered too (or have been like me i.e. disappeared for ages...)
If there's anyone who hasn't entered and would like to take my voting place then please PM me! Otherwise I'd just go with the votes you have Hairy. Sorry for not being any help! sad
