The sun was blaring above and the emerald lioness made her way through the underbrush, leaving the pride and making her way towards an emptry clearing to collect her thoughts. Ayana's tail flicked gently behind her and she turned her maw towards the sky, flicking her lids closed for a few long moments before sighing and layind down, her head resting gently on her crossed paws. The days had become long and weary, repetative and boring as she found herself struggling to pull herself through each day. Was it, perhaps, a calm before a storm? Sad to say it, but she would be glad for something to happen, even if it were to be... severe.

Ew... the sun. Why was it so hot? Djibouti sighed as he rolled onto his back under the shade of one of the few trees in the specific expanse of land. Rolling back to his stomach he sighed again, today was so BORING! Flexing his paw he made his dragon mark move, making it look like it was slithering on his arm. His tail flicked back and forth, the dragon's tail flicking the opposite way. Finally he resorted to licking his paw, watching to horizon for something to do...

In the distance, the unnatural colored creature caught her eye. Blinking, Ayana moved a bit closer, her green pelt blending into the grass until she wished to show herself. At that point, she straightened her posture and glanced towards the lion as he seemed to be preoccupied with looking somewhere in a different direction. "Hello." She called, her voice was calm, stern.

Djibouti was jarred out of his concentration, well more like dazed state, when the green lioness spoke up. "Thanks for breaking the mood." He mumbled as he turned his head and looked at her, what a strange green color... "Can I help you... or something? I don't really enjoy being interupted when I am doing something..." he said as he lazyily stood up, stretching while he rose. Looking away from the lioness he looked over the horizon, maybe there was something more interesting to talk to than this green lioness.

Ayana blinked and looked over the lion. It was a gamble when talking to new lions, she figured. Some were entertaining, helpful, nice. Some were... Well... "Oh yes, because you seemed pretty occupied with something." She let out a slightly amused snort and turned her head, looking out over the horizon as well. "Ah, well, no." She shrugged. "Just some company, I suppose."

Behind her, the little rainbowed mouse Skeet squeaked and ran through the grass. He hadn't really been with Ayana with a while...

Djibouti glared, "To me nothing qualifies as something." He was about to plod off when he heard the mouse squeak. Turning his gaze he looked at the rainbow creature and he smirked. "Are you gonna eat it or shall I?" He said as he figured the mouse was her friend. She said she wanted company... and he'd give her company, but she never specified on good company or bad... He ran his tounge across his maw and turned towards the lioness and her mouse.

Ayana gave a snort and looked towards him as she spotted Skeet. "Aha. Funny." She shook her head lightly and flicked her tail. Warily, Skeet looked at the lioness that seemed to be looking over his lioness almost... hungrily. Tensing up, he squeaked, ready to go fetch Sir Bakari if needed. "Don't eat him" She murmured darkly, patting Skeet with her tail gently and looking towards the lion, seeing if he would end up being friendly or not. "Do you want me to leave, then?

Djibouti smirked again and turned his gaze from the mouse to the lioness, looking her over hungerily before looked back to the horizon. "You can if you want, but I'm not gonna make you." He said as he began walking towards the stream not to far away. "If you want company... you'll follow..." He said with a look over his shoulder and a flick with his tails.

Skeet looked towards Ayana for a moment, pinning his ears back before sighing as she followed him. Ayana realized it was somewhat of a bad idea, but as she thought before; anything that would cease this calm before the storm, even the storm itself. Wrinkling her nose a bit, she sighed. "Fine." She murmured lightly before following the lion towards the stream.

Hearing the lioness beind him he smirked. He walked at his own pace to the stream and if she wanted to walk beside him, it was up to her, he could care less. When he reached the stream he leaned down, lapping up some of its cool contents. He'd wait until the lioness got a drink, if indeed she wanted one, maybe the mouse too, before he asked, "So... why is a lioness such as yourself out on yer lonesome?" His voice seemed to sound uninterested and as he spoke he sat down, eventually laying down.

Ayana watched him warily from behind before watching him take a drink. She softly padded through the grass, her mind focusing on each blade of grass as they brushed against her legs. Coming up to the stream, she paused a moment before leaning over and taking a drink, letting Skeet do so as well, and taking a seat beside the blue lion. Glancing to him, she rested her head on her paws and looking towards the water's edge as the small mouse flicked the small water droplets from his large ears.

"I needed some quiet from the annoying repitition of the pride I'm with." Her tail flicked gently beside her and her feathers brushed against the ground. "Le Roi de Sorrow." She murmured lightly, glancing up towards the sky.

"Prides are overrated." He said as he yawned, closing his eyes. His dragon tail swayed menicingly before he finally opened his eyes again. "I wander. It's easier. You don't get bugged by pride duties." He seemed to rant about it... but there was a sense of longing in his tone. "The pride... how big is it?" He said, trying to keep some form of conversation going. He flipped a paw over and began to inspect it, looking bored as usual.

"Do you really think so?" Ayana blinked a few times, her tail curling around her gently. There was a pause as she lay her head on her paws. "I suppose it's a good size. There are their ups and downs, I suppose, but it's not too bad overall..." Her voice trailed off as Skeet nearly tripped into the water's edge, only to be caught by her paw and pulled up beside her. She glanced over then, watching as he examined his paw before looking straight ahead over the water.

"Why do you do that?" He growled as he galred at the mouse. "What is worth saving? He's not even big enough to count as an appetizer..." he snorted as he eyed the mouse like a good cut steak. "How can something so small and worthless be worth saving?" He looked up to her, glaring still before he returned to inspecting his paw. Why did he even care? It wasn't -his- mouse to save...

"Well." The lioness shrugged and watched the small mouse skitter about. I don't think that size matter that much." It sounded a bit cheesy, but she didn't know how else to put it. "Why do you care, anyways?" She arched a brow and glanced to the lion out of the corner of her eye. Her tail curled around her back legs, flicking against the grass elegantly.

"I don't." He said defensively but shot another glare to the mouse. "It just seems pointless. You could be using the effort on something else... something a little more important than an appetizer..." Rolling his eyes he looked back to his paw. "I like to work alone... if you know what I mean..." He said with a huff. "No reason for a pride, a friend, or even an appetizer..."
