I was just wondering what house some of the people in the Harry Potter series were sorted into, when they were at Hogwarts. People Like:
Professor Trelawney
Riter Skeeter
Kingsley Shacklebolt(sp)?
Moody
Umbridge
Fudge
N. Longbottom's Grandmother
Mundungus
Mr. Ollivander
Xenophilus Lovegood
Aberforth Dumberdore
and others that were mentioned more than once in the books. I would like to get your openion, on what house you think they were in and why you say so.

Does J.K. Rowling mention their sortings at all? Like in interviews or anything? Anyway, here's my thoughts...
Professor Trelawney: I would put her into Ravenclaw. She explores a subject that is snubbed by most people, and while she may not be the sharpest divination tool in the shed, she is very knowledgable in this area. It is my understanding that Ravenclaws are, in a way, explorers of knowledge no matter how odd or crazy it might get.
Rita Skeeter: excessively ambitious and sneaky when it comes to her journalism, sounds like a Slytherin to me
Kingsley Shacklebolt: I would say either Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. He's part of the Order of the Phoenix which makes him very brave indeed, yet I also feel a sense of loyalty in him towards the people he trusts. Probably Gryffindor though.
Moody: Totally Gryffindor. I can't see him as anything else really with the kind of work that he's so passionate for.
Umbridge: Ugh... ...UGH... I don't want to think about her right now. ...she gets along awfully well with Slytherins though doesn't she?
Fudge: I.... would say Hufflepuff. He obviously isn't very brave, and he's pretty stupid. Perhaps his sense of justice is what got him into the government. I would be very ashamed of him though if he were a Hufflepuff.
N. Longbottom's Grandmother: I'm gonna say Gryffindor simply because I think it runs in the family.
Mundungus: ...er... pass... I need to think more on this one.
Mr. Ollivander: ...Ravenclaw perhaps? His knowledge of wands far exceeds most people...
Xenophilius Lovegood: Oh definitely Ravenclaw, Luna obviously got some of that from him.
Aberforth Dumbledore: He's incredibly intellegent, but my first guess would be Gryffindor. Harry looks up to him because of his gryffindorian traits I think.

Professor Sybil Patricia Trelawney: She is rather tricky to place but if I have to guess, I see her as a Hufflepuff or A Ravenclaw. Ravenclaw: She is extremely knowledgeable in Divination. Hufflepuff: it takes hard work and patience to learn divination and she seems extremely loyal to Dumbledore and Hogwarts.
Rita Skeeter: Rita is certainly cunning, resourceful and very ambitious. I could easily see her as a Slytherin but I feel like she could also be a Ravenclaw. She's intelligent and loves seeking out knowledge.
Kingsley Shacklebolt : I see him as a Gryffindor. He was brave and daring. Pretty much a perfect picture of what we expect a Gryffindor to be. But I can also see him as a Ravenclaw- he certainly has wit and intelligence.
Alastor Moody: He could be a Gryffindor or a Ravenclaw. Gryffindor because of his bravery and Ravenclaw because of his intelligence. "Constant Vigilance"
Dolores Jane Umbridge: She feels like a Slytherin. Pure Slytherin. Ambition, Cunning and Resourcefulness . I doubt any other house would use Blood Quills or Truth serum on students.
Cornelius Oswald Fudge: Well he certainly isn't brave- I don't think he's a Gryffindor. He doesn't feel like a Ravenclaw either- He dismissed the facts about Cedric's death way to easily. Hufflepuff values loyalty and fair play- I don't think he fits those traits well either- He turned on Dumbledore very quickly. If I had to guess, I'd put him in Slytherin- It takes ambition to be a leader (if you can call him that) and he certainly was resourceful (like using his influence with the Daily Prophet)
Augusta Longbottom (Neville's Grandma): She isn't that well known but the Longbottom's are Pure Blood and I think they'd all fall into the same house. So I think she'd be a Gryffindor.
Mundungus Fletcher: Well, he's no Hufflepuff- he left Moody to die, so he doesn't show loyalty. Not Gryffindor. I can't see him as a Ravenclaw. I would put him in Slytherin, he was resourceful - He was able to bribe Umbridge with the Locket.
Mr. Garrick Ollivander : I can see him as a Ravenclaw or a Hufflepuff. Ravenclaw because he has extensive knowledge of wands and wand lore. and Hufflepuff because it takes a lot of hard work and patience to make and sell the wands.
Xenophilus Lovegood I'd place him in Ravenclaw. I feel like he and Luna are very similar.
Aberforth Dumberdore I could see him as a Gryffindor but I could see him as a Ravenclaw as well.
