Woah! Haru is an amateur fashion designer and she started designing a Pirate Alice collection about a year ago!
eek She designed a female pirate costume based on each of the central characters of Alice In Wonderland! She even made the Cheshire Cat costume and wore it for Halloween last year!

3nodding Like having people send in original designs that they drew or maybe a short story competition. Or a mini RP contest where a brief situation and character are laid out and whoever roleplays the character best wins.
3nodding When you get more creative with the contests more poeple will join!
3nodding And there are other ways for the guild to profit from contests. You could have a banner contest or you could give a prize at the end of the month to the guild member who posted the most or recruited the most new members.
We could also do events other than competitions. Maybe something around Halloween, like a costume ball where you come as your favorite villain. If you get the word out about it to enough of the right people it could be a big success. There are also larger scale events that take a lot of planning but are completely worth it. Perhaps we could do something like a mystery, except with the incorporation of Batman and/or pirate themes. We could set a storyline first. Maybe the Riddler is threatening to blow up the guild (imagine if you would that the guild is a city and each thread is a building) and he's leaving riddles for us to solve that will lead us to the place where all the bombs are rigged together. We could appoint one person to play the Riddler. That person will leave the clues. Everyone else in the guild will be keeping an eye out for any dropped hints around the guild. If we want to keep it simple that'd be it, but we could mix it up with a plot twist somewhere along the way. Anyways, it's just an example. So that you can get a feel for the kinds of major events that Haru likes to organize.
What do you think of Haru's ideas? She has more ideas if you'd like to hear them. Just suggestions though. Your guild. It's up to you. Just know that Haru knows what she's talking about. She's worked with a lot of guilds before.
