I'm looking for a new flute, but im not so sure what brand is good or not. Do you have an recommendations?

Gemeinhardt is amazing. I own one and am seeking to buy a new one. The only problem with some gemeinhardts is trouble with the high E and F sharp, but many flutes have that problem, and I got used to it about a year after I got my beautiful gemeinhardt.

Gemeinhardt is a totally awesome flute brand. I have had mine since I joined band in 6th grade, and I am now in the 10th grade and just now having problems due to marching season. I am about to buy another one. I love Gemeinhardt!

oh, i clicked buffet, but that's an amazing brand for clarinets
i recommend Gemeinhardt for flutes, they're really nice (though i haven't been playing long)

I have to say either Gemeinhardt or Selmer. The former is the obvious choice and you really can't go wrong there. I'm a loyal Selmer fan myself. My piccolo, bassoon, and clarinet are all Selmers and I'm very happy with them. In my mind, these two brands are pretty equal. They both play well and they're well made instruments. They're both brands any repair shop will take too, unlike some brands that have come on the market recently.

I'm the nub, so I'm going to say Yamaha.
Excellent student model. =) The higher register is just kind of funky.

They are probably all pretty good brands, but when it comes to flutes yamaha and gemeinhardt are the big names. Personally, I've had two Gemeinhardt flutes and both were great. If I get a new one I'll stick with the brand. I have a piccolo that's a Yamaha and it's a very good instrument.

I play a Gemeinhardt Flute... I love it. Except I have(I THINK) to get a new one..... sad My hands hurt on the 3 tone holes(Notes:G,Ab,F,E,) I play a beginner model(2SP)... I'm gonna be sad if I have to give it, up....
