Even as she paced around the room it didn't take long for her to hear the sounds of footsteps in the hallway near her. She paused and turned her head, pushing back a set of curls to its rightful place behind her back and not over her shoulders. Lilith turned her body and waited for the pair that she'd asked for to come in. They both bowed and she didn't miss the odd look that one of them was giving her body guard. In return she narrowed her eyes at him, clearing her throat before she began to speak.
"As both as you know well enough," didn't that magician have any type of a fashion sense? Honestly! "The Mei'q Valuk army is marching strait for the capital of Erion. While we do have some forces that will slow their assault as they come, the Mei'q Valuk army will certainly be able to push past them." She stared both of them down, not allowing any of the previous quibbling from just less than an hour from before poison her current appearance. "That is exactly why you have been summoned here. While the Mei'q Valuk army is vaguely familiar with our terrain, they would not be able to tell if something was wrong or different from how it normally was." She took a moment to take a breath, moving her head to look at both of them individually. "I want both of you to take part of your crews and go out to set up traps for our enemy. Their numbers must be downsized. Do either of you have any such skills for a task such as this?" Surely the builder knew how to make traps and that bloody wizard some sort of a curse, jinx or a bomb!

Ruffling his wings a final time, he folded them behind him, sat down on the edge of the table letting his wings dangle off the sides. Putting the light blue feathers down behind him, he turned and extended a cautious hand towards his runes. "They are transmuter runes. They decrease the amount of energy needed for my spells and allow me to perform certain spells."
Taking them in his hands he began looping one string back around his wrist and the other around his neck. With a small smirk, "Unique spells like this." The moment he finished speaking, he tapped his braid, and it began to move as though alive. It moved up and over his shoulder and down to his belt pouch. A few strands moved into the pouch and extracted a small silver coin. Moving back up his body, his hair rolled the coin, around the coin, and at times, merged with the coin. "Without my runes, I can not do that. Comes in hand during close combat. Three hands, one of which can block almost anything." His expression and posture seemed more relaxed than ever before; but it was clear he was still wary as a young fawn. "Thank you for returning them."
Reaching over his shoulder, he pulled a strap, and his backpack slipped down under his right shoulder. Pulling it around front he pulled his sword and bedroll off and tossed them nonchalantly onto the bed.

Serenice stayed in a corner, closer to the Queen than the men. She listened carefully. Lilith was clever. Lilith was strong.
Both men listened with utmost attention to their Queen. While the Magician was seeing a way to get closer to the power, the manager was happy to change his daily work with unique projects. Luckily for the Queen both men were smart and dedicated to Erion. When the Queen asked them about their skills, the magician, because older spoke first. "My Queen, if Lord Drag and myself combine our humble abilities, your wish shall be fulfilled." He knew that even though the Queen did not like discussing too much with him, she wanted concrete information at that moment. "Our land might be known by the Mei'q Valuk,...what if the mountains and valleys changed place to lead them where WE want them to be...?" he asked with a sneaky voice. His twisted mind had always served the former Queen and King. He wanted power but the idea of betraying Erion had never came to his mind.
The manager gave a shy smile. "Y...your Ma...Majessss...t...ty, I ha...have the hum...hum...humble a..a...bili...t.t.tty of cr...crea...t..tt..ting a t...t..trap at ea....ea...ch va....va...lley. Ssssso th...that....wh...when...th..they r...r..reachhhh de..desti...tina...tt.ion no...none wi...will l...iive." It had always been difficult for the man to speak in public and usually his number 2 was always with him, speaking for him. His dedication and intelligence had brought him to the level of chief of the building.
Pomme's eyes went from child-like wide opened, to narrower focusing on every movement of the braid. "Impressive!" she commented with a smile. "You are welcome" she added. As he looked more comfortable, she remembered. "My oh my, you must be starving! Or at least I am!" she jumped on her two small feet and called for a servant. Five minutes later they were served with a real feast in Midal's room. "Help yourself. I hope that this is to your taste." she said with a smile. She was having a great day.

...Idiot. You let yourself be dragged off-course. ...Now I can't even remember what Queen Gwen wanted me to do...
These were the thoughts that ran liberally through his mind as he sighed, looking around in the village. He had been down there for only a few hours and while he noticed some newcomer with wings approach the castle he couldn't help but at least attempt to recall what he had to do. ...Someone by the name of Heather. He sighed and shook his head, looking around, he would never find her, not at this rate, he couldn't even remember her last name. Out of all the times he has server Lady Gwen not once had he actually -forgotten- what he was charged to do. But, this would have to be a first. As he turned, the shined steel of his blade was visible only for a moment as he turned his body around to the castle, starting the slow trudge up the incline that led to the gates.
As he rounded a corner he sighed, moving his hands up to massage his temples, sub-consciously focused on the area around him, deftly stepping in and out of the way of citizens and guards as they resumed on with their daily lives. He moved a hand down to the necklace hanging around his neck, bringing a hand down to look at the once-shiny gold medallion, it now sat dull and had attained a slightly earthen look to it. It had been a long time since he had last polished it. He sighed and shook his head, walking through the gates as one of teh foot-soldiers opened them.
Where had the time gone?

Lilith listened to both of them, pursing her lips once both of them finished as she let her thoughts run. "Do what you can. I want you to immediately begin drafting plans. As soon as you complete them show them to me. Once I approve them you will perform them as quickly as possible. You are both dismissed to do your work."
Lilith waved her hand and waited until the doors had fully shut before closing them both. She sighed once they were firmly closed, looking down at the floor before walking back over to the window. From there she could only pace, plans zipping through her mind. And, behind the edges, lurked what had happened inside of that room. She still couldn't get it fully out of her head. Every time a sentence completed itself it was there, demanding to be paid attention to. Had it even been real, though? Had she only been hallucinating? What about the ripped dress? Her missing shoe? She'd come and cried pathetically in front of Serenice! 'I must be loosing my marbles...' she thought bitterly, feeling sick as her she recalled how she'd ran directly to Serenice for help. It was disgusting how she'd acted, so desperate and pitiful that she'd actually allowed herself to... how awful.
'What now? I most certainly cannot just sit here and wait; yet I know not what else to do!' Honestly, there were only so many things she could do. She knew that there were things that she should be doing at that moment but she wasn't entirely sure what that was. And she hadn't exactly been crowned yet, so the power hadn't been fully transferred into her hands. Lilith paused in her frantic pacing, tilting her head back to peer eerily at the ceiling. 'What exactly are you hiding?' She tore her eyes away from there and turned around quickly as if she suspected that something was there. 'What crude old walls.'

Eying a large bowl of fruit, he nodded slowly. "So the Elite team is the lead body guards eyes, ears, and hands? Interesting and effective set up? What is our usual duties?" Leaning back crunching on a large round, maroon fruit that crunched with the crisp crack of a good mackintosh apple. His eyes shot open and he looked at it again. Swallowing his first bite he sighed in awe "Wow. Haven't had a bellancrot this crisp and fresh in years." He took another giant bite and chewed with obvious relish.
((I'm going to time jump a few hours.))
After talking and eating with Pomme, Midal felt he had a much better grasp on the current situation that Erion faced. "Thank you Pomme for the food and the information. It has been most enjoyable." Standing and stretching, he was careful not to hit anything. As he stretched, his wings spread and seemed to fill the room. In the reddish light of dusk, his bluish-white wings took on a violent hue and seemed to shimmer as he shook himself. Noticing the tint of the light he turned back to Pomme, "Is there any place where I can get a quick flight in before night falls? I'd like to stretch my wings before I turn in for the night."

Gaian Username: Mairin Rainilt
Character Name: Dyeshka Aryn
Race: Changeling
Age: 17
Weapon(s): Halberd (staff ax)
Magic/Abilities: Can tell when someone is lying. Has great hearing.
Appearance: A few inches over 5 feet tall. She has pointed ears and the catlike eyes of a changeling. Her eyes are normally yellow, but change colors when she feels strong emotions. Her hair is black with the tips orange. She wears it short so she can wear her tattered hat to cover the black and only allow the orange to show. Generally wears a vest that has an elongated bottom to almost be a dress, but stops just short to draw that attention. Along with her pants, she styles earth tone colors to not catch attention in a crowd or the woods. She also wears knee-high boots. She has scars on her back from her “father” when her “mother” wasn’t looking.
History: Was exchanged with a young Rivvil human couple’s baby. She doesn’t remember all of her previous life, but she knows that the change was because she had done something wrong and was being punished. Distraught by the change, the wife quickly took to caring for Dyeshka because of the loss of her child. The husband didn’t want to even look at the girl. After 7 years, the wife had another child. Taking advantage of this, the husband got rid of the changeling girl because now his wife could spoil their real child instead of Dyeshka. He didn’t know that you were supposed to take care of the changeling or you’d never getting your human child back.
As a changeling, Dyeshka was intelligent beyond her human looking years. At the age of 7, she was able to fend for herself quite well. Thieving was an occupation, but she also worked as a kitchen girl (she couldn’t be a servant because her looks may drive off customers). Recently she came across a decent amount of money and hasn’t been working.
Other: Likes to just stop and listen to the world around her. When she was working, the only fault to here work ethic was when she would just vanish for a while. During that time she would climb up a tree and listen to the birds. She has a habit of knocking on trees, in a subconscious call out to the fairies that had placed her in the human realm.

((Sweet!))
Dyeshka Ayrn rested contently in the crook of a tree, higher than someone would consider safe. Though normally she wouldn't do things out of the ordinary, she wanted to rest without people pointing and whispering at her for hanging in a tree. Her breathing came and went with the soft wind around her.
Suddenly, a blast of wind rocked the sleeping girl. Dye gave a small yelp, startled that her body was now tipping off of the branch. Her hand shot out and tried to grab onto anything. She successfully caught purchase on a small branch. Before she could get more than a sigh of relief, this branch snapped loudly.
Dye fell to the ground, saving herself by landing on her feet, but swung off balance into the tree. She groaned at the pain in her back. Then she sighed again, for sure that there wasn't anything that could deter her now.
She noticed that her head felt really light. Her hand reached up to her hair to find it there. Her hair. Wait a second... where was her hat? Great, she thought, It fell off. Stating, of course, the obvious. Her black hair shined in the fading light, but her orange tips flamed at her face. Even if she cut it, the orange always was there. A genetic quirk of almost being totally human.
Quickly, so no one would see her odd hair, Dye began to look for her hat. "It has to be around here somewhere..." she murmured to herself.
It was obvious that the hat didn't want to be found, but the changeling wasn't about to go into town without her hat. Though it took a while with the dim light, Dye did find the hat. It had made its way into a bush further away than she thought it should've gotten. The wind is playing more tricks on me than I thought, she growled to herself.

Both men left, with numerous bows towards the Queen and a strange look from the wizzard towards Serenice. The woman did not acknowledge it, she was silent and immobile as usual.
When they were alone again, she did not say anything. She was impressed by the ability of the Queen to react quickly and find the right person to do what was needed. Except for that...Cedric of hers. But she dismissed the thoughts.
She unconsciously stared at the Queen who seemed eaten by something. She was moving strangely, thinking obviously. Serenice recalled the episode at the library. They had not said anything about it since the incident. She was usually waiting for Lilith to speak first in this kind of situation, but she knew that this time, the woman's pride would prevent her to do so.
Without moving, she started speaking. "My Queen...I felt it too." She had not seen anything. But when Lilith had jumped to her arms, she had felt that strange power behind the walls. Was it a creature or a shadow? She did not know. But she did not want her Queen to believe that she was crazy. "We were not alone...in the library." she finished. Her strange eyes looking at the beautiful Queen.
Pomme enjoyed her day, as she had rarely before. Midal was an interesting person with a great spirit. He was not perfect. But who was? She shared with him as much as she could without betraying her friend.
When he asked her about flying around, she scratched her head during a second. Then a glow came to her lively eyes. "Eureka!" She stood all at once and grabbing Midal's wrist pulled him out of the room. "Follow me." she said, releasing his arm.
She rather ran than walked towards the halls. Then she stopped and pressed the stone, the wall moved silently and they disappeared in the darkness, the wall closing behind them. After only a few minutes they were out. She led him across the streets and fifteen minutes later, they reached one of the city hills. On the east side the city and castle, on the west side a beautiful wild forest.
She opened her arms. "Here! You can have all the fun you have above this forest, no one really comes there..." she smiled and sat in the grass, looking at the sun set.

Lilith had nearly been at peace. Or, at least, as close to it as she could have gotten at that exact moment in time. She was back to sitting on the window sill on top of the pillows that were set there specifically for her, deciding that maybe it would settle her rattled nerves. Then Serenice had decided to speak. The vampire's words rung out quietly in the room but loudly against her own skull. At first Lilith didn't move, keeping her head turned to continue looking outside as if she hadn't even heard a single word that had come out of the female's mouth. Then, after sometime had passed her fingers tightened, fingernails digging into fabric before they suddenly relaxed.
"I see."
What else could she say? Her once silent-guardian had actually spoken more than two sentences in a single day. In fact, it had only been one hour and she'd nearly had an entire conversation with the nearly mute woman. Lilith didn't even know how to speak to her. She was still licking the wounds of her deeply bruised pride and now Serenice was informing her that she was not, in fact, crazy. Ah yes. Such reassuring words coming from a vampire who sank into the shadows of the walls like an illusion.
"Tomorrow I want to go back." But this time she was not going to go alone. "But not by myself. I want you to pick just a few others to come with us." And, now, she just wanted some sleep. The sun was sinking down into the heavy horizon and she wished to follow it. She closed her eyes, letting her head rest against the window with her hands placed on her lap. She listened to the sounds of the city below begin to grow quieter along with the dimming light growing deeper against her eyelids. It took nearly thirty minutes but soon Lilith was fast asleep.

Serenice did not expect more from her Queen than the short sentence she got as an answer. She was not surprised either when the Queen informed her of tomorrow's plan. She nodded, understanding that Lilith needed rest. She stepped back in the shades, disappearing from sigh, but not from the room. Night was hiding much more betrayal than day night. Only when she was sure that the Queen was asleep did she silently left the room. She grabbed a half asleep guard and sent him to find Pomme and the winged new comer. "Go now!" she ordered. The scared man ran and ran without success and came back after ten minutes, alone...Serenice was very annoyed but she did not say anything. Where are you Pomme? she wondered. She put her finger on her pendant, pressing it.
Pomme was watching the man fly. She wished she would fly too. She was feeling well and relaxed. A nice day. Her dreaming was interrupted by her pendant on her chest, burning her skin. Her soft expression twitch for a second. Back to work! she just hoped that nothing wrong happened. She pressed back the pendant. She was coming. She looked at the winged man. Serenice would probably want to see him too. "Midal!! We have to go!! Now!" she called him.
As he landed, she spoke further. "We are needed. Let's go." and she started running towards the castle.
Later in the night Serenice, Pomme and Midal had a discussion. They were ready for the following day.
