So who is this "Walter"?

I rewatched Guardian Angels from season 4 and just realised, who is this "Walter"? He supposedly looks like House and House replied "Oh that's grandpa House" or something then later says he doesn't have a grandpa named Walter.
So who is he and how did he become of of the patient's hallucinations?

Walter isn't real, nor is he House's grandfather. House was kidding when he said "Oh, that's Grandpa House." The patient subconsciously made up Walter.

I realise House was being sarcastic and went to Wilson's office just to act like he was freaked out.

So Walter is just something from the patient's imagination? Not even a real person from her memory?

I think there was something House said about it that the patients mind was taking his characteristics and placing them in a hallucination, but only it made it into a different person. But House was only kidding about grandpa House, just being his sarcastic self and then only pretended to freak out so the patient would trust him and think he actually believed her.

Now if Walter was a real character that would be cool xD but sadly it was just her mind messing with her.

Lol I wondered to Walter was after I watched that episode for the first time.

I think the patient just made him up, and then House played mind games with her and said it was his Grandpa, even thoug hhe later said he didn't have one.
