Yikes! Okay so the 8th graders going to the high school next year have to go to Tuesday practices and it is cool cuz we get to learn to how to march and stuff but this tuesday the WHOLE marching band is there. ahhhhhh! i'm scared

im gonna be in the same situation soon too! next year i go to the high school and have to work with the other grades! im scared but i remember that some of my friends from this year are gonna be there too!

What are you afraid of? You have to meet the rest of the marching band eventually.

Don't worry! Marching kids are nice, or at least, all of the ones I know are. They know you're a beginner and they won't mind. Besides, soon enough, no one will be able to tell who's a freshman and who's not. Section leaders especially should be nice to you - if they're mean to freshmen for being behind, just let the drum major or director know. They should be supportive and encouraging. And they should make sure the other people in your section are nice to you all, too. Have fun!

Don't worry, you you won't know them at first, but if your band is anything like my band, you'll all be one big family soon.
