You can marry him,he has what they call an invisible heart meter,to marry him you must give him things he likes until you see a scene where you can start selling things to him in his shop.in order to marry him you have to own the vase he sells and see three of his events before he accepts the bule feather.the gourmet and kappa also have invisible heart meters ninja

Gourmet is really hard to woo though. You only have one day a year to get him to like yoou. That takes a really long time.

Not only that, but he really likes Elli Leaves and those are really hard to make that early in the game.
