This is just something that popped into my head a few times..

There are games where it can be extremely gory, yet it's only adults that a dying. What about children? Are creators of games afraid that the goverment might ban their game from some countries? There's no law saying that we can't have children dying in games. But of course, the age thing for games might go from Mature to Adult, or whatever.

Games like Manhunt were taken off shelves in some countries because of the violence. You could suffocate them with plastic bags and stuff. But in Bioshock, you can kill the Little Sisters. In Fable 2, I'm really hoping that you can kill the children. Not because I want to, but it's rare to see this in games.

-Why games have no children dying in them
-Do you think some game creators of afraid their games getting banned in countries?
-Would children be influenced to kill people if their parents let them play violent games?
-How would people, parents, etc, react if children died in games?

I suppose the idea of children dying isnt something they want to introduce highly, or maybe some game creators didnt think it would fit the story line to exactly be shooting or mass murdering children. Hmm... yeah actually, you wouldnt put little kids running around in doom, in bioshock its still monsters too and you can save them. Is there a game where you could add children as targets for added gore?

It is bad for publicity for your game to be banned, I suppose you wouldnt want it to be banned in a country where you see it being a benefit not to be banned in. Yes you might be scared of a game ban if you are concerned about its effects, whatever they are.

Not exactly, it might lessen the idea of how bad it is to kill though but not exactly encourage you to I believe. It'll be horrifying when kids will be allowed guns in hand and games give them the idea that shooting people is very amusing and great entertainment.

I guess it would increase the gore in a game for there to be children dying, but that depends completely on a few things. I mean if the world comes to an end, billions of people die, not just children, it would have an effect if you were to witness horrid scenes of children being killed. I guess no one saw fit to put a child in front of a zombie in a ghost town, just cos it would be too unrealistic.

>< i should make a better points sweatdrop hungry, bye...

I think children aren't killed as much in games because most people aren't interested in that. The gamers don't care who they're killing, really, they just want to find a creative way to have some fun, but the developers do care, so they don't add children, because they don't want bad publicity. There's something different about killing innocent children than kill innocent people on the street.

Also, children just aren't in video games very often in general, because games are geared torwards adults.

I don't think violent video games cause violent crimes. In fact, the number of violent crimes has gone down since the eighties. There are people who play video games and shoot up schools, but there are also people who write plays and shoot up schools. That doesn't mean that plays cause school shootings.

I honestly don't think people would notice. I mean, what was bully? Unless you're brutally mutilating children in the game, it wouldn't be too far off from what is already available to play.

Children are often considered to be innocent when compared to adults (which, in some ways, is true). Due to this many people find it distasteful to kill a young child.

I'm sure some game creators are afraid of getting bans in certain countries. Sure controversy helps the game sell, but if no one can actually buy it, they have a problem.

I don't believe video games cause people to kill. The people who kill and blame video games were most likely mentally unstable before they played the games. In addition to the last point, other forms of media can be equally as graphic (ex. movies, tv, games) so if someone is blaming video games then they are blaming most of modern culture.

I don't think parents would take child killing to well. sweatdrop

their has to be a line somewhere in violence, i mean yes people can go out buy a gun and shoot up a elementery school but they would be labled a monster. and i dont think video games are soley responcible for violent crimes, their are many other factors, cheating spouses, bullys, poor work conditions(working harder then others and yet still being payed less then them) even though one woman did leave her child in her hot van becuase she was playing wow, means she was neglectfull, i finish what im doing before playing my games, and their not all about violence some of my games are about puzzle solving(tetris, n+) and also does the army/goverment emphisize joining the military which we have a war going on, and many of the soldiers coming back from the war are suffering from the same effects of the gulf war syndrom.
