Just sitting and waiting for the Stork...

Back labor???? I have never once even heard of anyone mention having back labor... I've always heard when you go into labor you feel tightning in your lower front and it's supposed to be really painful. I ended up getting something called back labor, which thank god I had an appointment today otherwise I would have never known I was in labor. Anyways, I was 3cms dialated at 5:30pm and having pains 40 minutes apart, which I thought was gas pains. I have not yet once felt my front tighten up and they are already 25 minutes apart. I have not once yet felt a 'contraction' but I guess that's okay; Kristopher is kicking the crap out of me now and then whee I'm sort of happy and upset I got this kind of labor because it hurts a good bit, sorta like when you hit your back into something really hard, but if I act like an idiot and twist my hips a lot or put pressure on my back for a few seconds, it makes the pain completely disapear. I just hope the birth goes this easy... sweatdrop

My labor with Ethan started off as back labor...it was the much nicer of the two kinds of contractions I had. With my sister and I, my mother only had back labor. Some women never have it at all.

Every labor is different and it's never what you expect. xd

With Ethan I had horrible back labor. With Kaleb the only labor I felt was a hot spot along my c-section scar where the epidural didn't work(ended up my uterus had adhered to the inside of my abdominal wall after my c-section with Ethan causing the epidural to not be effective there). My labor with Ethan was much easier I think even though I went longer without the epidural. Like Dirge said, every labor is different! Hope things go well for you, can't wait to see a birth announcement from ya!

With my daughter Raelin, the entire time I had preterm labor it was all in my lower abdomen. When I actually went into active labor, I had horrible back labor.

Now, with my son Logan, I'm suffering from preterm back and abdominal labor. Lord knows what I can expect when he actually comes.

I had a c-section cause my son wouldnt move into position properly, we also induced 2 weeks after his due date because he just wouldnt come out. So I dont have any personal experience with labor or back labor (they induced, had very minor contractions for 16 hours before they figured out what was going on and drugged me up for c-section).

My friend just had her baby on Monday. She went through the entire night with contractions at home, at 7 in the morning she realized they were getting closer so by 9:30 am she was at the hospital and Amyrillis was born at 5:01 pm. She had bad back labor, and she did not want an epidural but she ended up changing her mind when it was so bad she was screaming. If you have been told you will have back labor, then be prepared for the worst but be happy when you dont get the worst. Some people are told they will have back labor, and they have it at first but then the baby moves and the rest goes just fine. And some have it during the entire delivery. Good luck hun!
