So, I've been noticing as of late this small, sharp pain in my lower back on the right side where my hip is. [Okay, it probably is my hip, but..you know]. I know that there is going to be lower back pain in pregnancy. For some reason, I don't if this is necessarily pregnancy realated so I even debating on where I should post this.

I have scoliosis, so it might just be that. I have a five degree curve in my spine, and my hips are off set by about five millimeters from the last measurement I got in February, the right side being the higher hip. Being pregnant may have just aggravated it, I don't know, but I do plan on asking my doctor at my next check-up on Tuesday. Anyway, its a sharp pain in my lower back, like I said, and it sometimes make it hard to walk as it almost stiffens my leg. It simply doesn't go away at all. Its always there, just varying in intensity. I'm only fourteen weeks pregnant, but could it be possible for the baby to already be laying on a nerve?

Has anyone who is/was pregnant had this problem?

I got twinges in my lower back and on the sides near my hips, but they didnt last for more than a few minutes at a time. If you have scoliosis, then that is probably what is contributing to it. I dont know if the baby is big enough at 14 weeks to be laying on a nerve, but it could be a ligament that is being pulled because the muscles are getting pulled in ways your not used to (your doc will explain that later on too about the ligaments and stuff lol). Yeah, I would say ask your doc about it, but I dont think its anything to be worried about. If it helps, take some tylenol since its safe (do not take ibuprofen!!!!)

Good luck and hope you feel better hun, being pregnant is a wonderful thing, but some of the side effects suck monkey butt lol

I bet you all were hoping for one of those posts that gives good news today.

Well, sorry. I couldn't go to the doctor. I found out that my medicade didn't last until May 31st like they told me, so I didn't go. I don't have that kind of money to pay for that. I don't have money at all.

So, I'm trying to apply to get it back while finding a free clinic until then. But I did find one and I have an appointment for Monday. I did, however, end up calling the nurse at my OB's office to ask about it anyway. She said she'd ask the doctor what he thought anyway, even though they can't do anything without seeing me.

Thank you, America, for really caring about your people because those of us who do not work because they can't whose husbands make minimum wage do not deserve the health insurance for low income families because we make too much money and still can't afford health care while those who bring in more than us can get it. You're fantanstic!

Go into your local DSHS office (thats what its called around here anyways....its commonly referred to by snobs as Welfare) and ask them about the pregnancy medical program. You are covered through the pregnancy and 2 months afterwards and the baby is covered for 1 year afterwards. Its a really good program! And I dont think there is an income limit but I am not sure. We made to much to qualify for family medical, but they didnt deny the pregnancy medical.
