If so, who is your favorite composer? For me its Chopin, I know people rave on and on about Mozart or Beethoven, but to me, they just sound angry.

I've played the piano since I was a kid, so I love classical music. Chopin's my favorite composer too!!
I do understand what is it about Mozart and Beethoven that people like. Mozart has so many happy pieces. It's a really fun thing to play when you're feeling all happy inside. Beethoven's interesting because, since he was deaf, his pieces are really going from one extreme to another. When it's soft, it's REALLY soft, and when it's powerful, it's extremely powerful. It's kinda bipolar. But that's what makes it fun to play Beethoven pieces.
However, Chopin's pieces are much more full of emotions. They're elegant, and give the musician a lot of freedom in terms of execution, that's what I like the most about them. 3nodding

not sure how to explain it but Chopin is always calming for me, even his more intense pieces still have a calmness to them.

Well, if you were Beethoven and you were deaf, and a composer, wouldn't you be a tad pissed if you couldn't hear your own music? I mean, If I couldn't hear any of the bagpipe pieces I've tried putting together, I'd be mad. Then again, I probably wouldn't be playing bagpipes if I was deaf...
