Needless to say, I have given my PS3 more playtime than any other console for the amount of time I've owned it, but it just seems the controllers aren't made with a high enough quality. Has anyone else had problems with theirs?
I got my PS3 last May and replaced my original SixAxis in January after the right analog stick started making my character pivot in circles on occasion, but mainly while playing Burnout Paradise it would pan to the side of my car during jumps practically every time. It was time for a new controller.
Last week while playing GTA I was playing online and my left analog stick started staying cocked to the left side everytime I pushed it in that direction. Not very effective for deathmatch, so I went back to my old SixAxis which seems to do fine for the most part in GTA. But now, I'm stuck with a controller that the left stick is practically useless and another one where the right stick malfunctions. I'm not abusive to my controllers either, I always put them back on the shelf when I'm finished with them and I've never thrown one. Is anyone else having similar problems? I shouldn't have to go through 2 controllers every year, this is ridiculous.

Never. My SixAxis has been good to me since March 07. And lord knows I've tripped over it enough times.
But I remember having the same problem with my DS2. Like I tried to play Star Ocean 3 and my character was spinning in circles. I had to buy a new controller JUST to play that one game. lol. THEN the rumble would ALWAYS die in the controllers! Like it would work for so many months and then just die. I then kinda just got sick of rumble and said who gives a care.
