Mulesing is sheep. Other animals, depending if there is a market for their flesh, are skinned alive. Animals that have a market for their milk are hooked up to rape racks and drugged with growth hormones *ahemsteroids*, and their babies taken, crated, and slaughtered. Animals that have a market for their meat ... well, they have a wide variety of awful things that happen to them, seeing how there are no laws protecting them at all. If they are too badly abused and sickened from the torture, they are just discarded, even while still having a chance of recovery for a life they wouldn't be able to keep anyway.
