The angelic kitsusagi fluttered his wings, large furry paws easily gripping the tree branch that he was perched upon. His eyes gazed out the cracks made by the leaves, looking about for someone to talk to. Or, for that matter, a damsel in distress that needed to be saved. Curling his tails about the branch, his chest puffed out a bit- yes, that was it. He was the hero here, and he would be saving any lovely maiden that should pass and become endangered.
Spreading his wings out to stretch, a couple feathers fell from them, drifting slowly to the ground beneath him. The leaves shifted and rustled about him as a light breeze blew through, the sun dappling his pelt with its warm rays. Come to think of it, he hadn't actually ever saved someone before. How was he supposed to do it?
He shook his head- he was a hero, right? At least, he claimed to be. If he truly was, he would know just what to do if someone was in danger. Grinning broadly, he continued to view the area about him from his vantage point, sitting in wait for a passerby.

Celestia did not know why she chose to walk on the earth today instead of soaring in the sky like what she usually would. Sure, today was cold and wet, and the sky looked absolutely dreary, but those conditions never stopped her from flying. Scanning the clouds, she found no birds or other winged Kitsu among them. Heck, if no one felt like being airborne right now, why should she?
Turning her gaze back on the ground, Celestia pawed some delicate white flowers that grew beneath her feet. They were the same shade as her fur, only they didn't have the streaks of grey and red that she carried. And, while they grew together in bunches, she wasn't as lucky and was often solitary in her wanderings.
Still occupied with the plants, she was startled when a blue feather dropped from a nearby tree. Celestia scowled, wondering what bird was that kind of color, before realizing that it came from another Kitsu. In a tree?
She glanced upwards and spotted a brightly colored fellow perched on a branch, as if waiting for someone to come along. Well she came along, he didn't have to wait any longer.
"Um, hello?"

Had he just heard something? The Angelic's eyes roved the area about him, looking for whatever he had thought he had heard. Footsteps? Well, what else could they be? He began to tense in apprehension- what if it was something unfriendly? What if it was a huge, hungry Nightmare? He wasn't quite sure he could take one on on his own...
Having almost forgotten what he was doing sitting up in a tree, Vahiron startled as he spotted the white fur of another heading his way. Flittering his wings a bit, he caught her question as he moved to hop down, amber eyes catching sight of her gray ones as he moved. Spreading the feathered appendages wide, he gently skimmed through the air, paws landing gently upon the ground below.
Tails flicking, he turned back, stepping forward with a tip of his head to the female. "Why, hello," he replied, "Just what is it that brings you out to these parts?" He knew the question sounded kind of dorky, but he really didn't mind- after all, he was around mostly to keep the general peace and quiet, right? That's what heroes did.
"If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to walk you to wherever you're headed," he added as an afterthought, "I just like to see that people make it wherever they're going unharmed. There are Nightmares roving all over the place these days, after all." The statement was true, he just hadn't said everything- he wanted to get to know more than the kitsu that lived near him, he wanted to branch out to others; this was the best way he could think of to do it.

Celestia quirked an eyebrow at the stranger's words. What an odd fellow. Did he really believe that there were Nightmares at every corner, and that an Angelic like her really couldn't take care of them?
Surpressing a scoff, she decided it was better to play along and not hurt his feelings. It wasn't a terribly bad for him to tag along if he wanted to... Even if she didn't have a certain destination.
"I'm just wandering and enjoying the weather, that's all. I didn't mean to stumble into you or anything."
Enjoying what remains of nice weather anyway. Celestia worried that it might rain later today, but what could she do about it?
"But if you really want, you can join me in my walking about. I don't mind at all."
Actually, the Angelic did sorta mind the unexpected companion, but again didn't wish to come off as a jerk. She liked her solitude more than social time with someone. Then again, he might get bored and leave, granting Celestia the alone time she wanted.
"If you're going to accompany, what's your name? I'm Celestia." She said, resuming the pace of her walk.

Grinning broadly, Vahiron either ignored or didn't notice whether or not she truly wanted his company. He was more than happy, after all, just to walk. It's what he spent a lot of his time doing, anyways. The weather was so nice at the moment, too... he was hoping it would hold out for a little while, but you never knew with Mother Nature.
"Celestia? What a nice name," he crooned softly in response, seeming to calm down a bit from his energetic introduction, "I'm Vahiron. It's a pleasure." He quickened his pace a bit to catch up alongside her before slowing back down to match hers. He was quiet for a moment or two as they walked along, tails swishing slowly back and forth. His wings had settled comfortably against his back, and while he wanted to spew out a long string of question to ask this young maiden, he held his tongue. He didn't want her to scoff and walk off, after all- he had said he would accompany her, and he would do just that.
"So, do you generally... stay around here, or are you just wandering through?" he inquired, voicing his words carefully, "I haven't seen you around, really, so I'm mostly just curious."

Celestia nodded in acknowledgment of the stranger's name. Vahiron. It was a nice name as well. She flicked her tails casually as she moved on.
"I'm just roaming. This is actually the first time I've been to this part of the land." She glanced down at the ground again, feeling slightly uneasy from the questions. It was also the first time she attempted a friendly conversation with another Kitsu, but saying that out loud would make her more awkward. How was she suppose to explain to him how she almost never came into contact with anyone during her lifetime? Celestia didn't wish to weigh down the light-hearted talk with such a sad topic hanging over them.
Wiping the brief melancholy look off her face, she turned her dual-colored eyes to Vahiron again. Seeing such a smile on his face almost gave her one too.
"So that would explain why you'd never see me... do you come here often?"

Ahh, roaming; that would explain why he hadn't seen her around. As he contemplated this briefly, he briefly caught the short look of sadness on her face, deciding it better not to mention it. He supposed that he himself had his share of sad things; he didn't know either of his parents, and had never spoken to his sister... however, a hero had to stand strong; they never let their own hardships get in the way of helping others that were worse off than themselves.
His ear swiveled to listen to her as she opened her mouth to speak again. "I wander about this area, yeah," he replied, nodding, "I sleep in a couple different places at night, but I don't have one defined 'home'." The word came out of his mouth almost harshly; he hadn't meant it to, but he had never had a home-like environment, and it was possible that he might never have it.
"All that aside, however," he began, changing the subject, "What brings you out this way? Where else have you been?" He felt like he was prying, but he figured that if she didn't like his questioning, she would just say so outright.
