"Rules?" asked Anubis. He laughed. "Your goddesses know the rules about what they can and can't do. As for you, just worry about not getting killed and you'll be just fine."

Svana steadied herself, then tucked the feather carefully into her pocket. "Um. Thanks, I guess."

Anubis smiled and patted her on the head. "Good luck, Svana," he said, and then turned on the spot and strode off into the gathering twilight.
