Okay, I'm technically a homicide detective, but hey, semantics. I'm here to awnser any questions about my job you care to ask. Just remember that, because I live in Germany, my awnsers pertain to the German methods of criminology, not the American ones.
And, yes. We watch CSI in Germany. Or at least I do.

Wow, a real CSI (technically speaking) in our midst - and German too! I'm glad to know you guys watch the show (I already know the Swedish watch it - or at least, one guy does...!).
Anyway, I've got a couple of questions, if you don't mind me asking - 1: How long do you spend working on one case (I know the time will change from case to case, scenario to scenario, so a rough average time is still good)?
2: We all know that the show gives the whole process a 'hollywood sheen', so what is the experience of working a case really like from your point of view?
3: Do you have any involvement with professional psychologists e.g forensic psychologists, other specialised psychologists?
I know 3 is a little random but I ask out of personal interest - I'm debating whether to specialise in forensic psychology, so I'm curious to see where/how/if they get involved in cases.
Anyway, thank you very much for offering to answer our questions! Its very generous of you to do so, so really, thank you. I can't wait to read what answers you give us (or me, at least).

Xias Wow, a real CSI (technically speaking) in our midst - and German too! Usually a few days to a week.2: We all know that the show gives the whole process a 'hollywood sheen', so what is the experience of working a case really like from your point of view? It's mostly slow, momotonous work. I spend hours uncovering and processing evidence. There is also a lot of dirty work. Oftentimes I have to dig through garbage for evidence and things like that.3: Do you have any involvement with professional psychologists e.g forensic psychologists, other specialised psychologists? The only involvement I have with them is when I need the forensic phycologists to help interview a suspect or witness who is panicked, scared, or not "all there".I know 3 is a little random but I ask out of personal interest - I'm debating whether to specialise in forensic psychology, so I'm curious to see where/how/if they get involved in cases.
