The sun was high in the sky as the white lioness was playing with the waves. Sevati was completely soaked from head to paw. Her lime eyes were bright with happiness as she had fun trying to catch the waves, only to have them escape from her grasps and retreat into the ocean. While she was enjoying herself, her mate was out on duty protecting the pride. He would be done when his shift was over. So that gave her plenty of time to get to know others of the pride as well as spend some time by herself.
As another wave rolled into the shore, she leapt forward and giggled, "I've caught you!"

The days have passed by smoothly for Ravi. There has been little to no disturbances of the border. Not that he minded, since the pride was rather far off from any other pride. But regardless, he still put out one-hundred and ten percent for his job. He had just given his spot to Kota and was going to head back towards his den. He missed his mate...he missed Sevati's smile and her lovely eyes.
As he came to the entrance of his den, he noticed that Sevi was not here. Curiously, he tilted his head and called out, "Sevi?" No response. Well, there were only a few other places that she could be and he knew where they were. He'd try the shore first, if anything else, Sevi loved to play in the water like a cub.

Once the wave started to retreat, Sevati's green eyes watched it roll back into the ocean. She shook her head before she was getting ready for another attack. The waves would be rolling back to get her shortly and she had to be prepared.
But, really, she was just trying to ease her mind. She couldn't believe she didn't realize sooner, but she has news she had to tell Ravi. Her mate would definitely be surprised, and very happy to hear the news since it's something he's been looking forward to.

Just as he headed over one of the dunes, Ravi's golden eyes spotted Sevati playing in the water. Like always, he mused silently. Not wanting to interupt her play, he sat down and watched her for a while. She was just so carefree and happy. She always seemed to have a smile on her face, unlike him. He couldn't understand how she could be so carefree when her life had been hard, any normal lion(ess) would have turned cold and bitter at the world, but not Sevi. Not his Sevi.

Another wave crashed into her as Sevati went to pounce on it. Water sprayed everywhere as she landed on the sand. A giggle escaped from her as she shook her head free of water. Her lime green eyes were twinkling brightly before she felt like she was being watched. Curious, she turned her head around to glance back at the shore, scanning it for any prying eyes.
It didn't take long for her to spot a very familiar figure. Ravi just stood out among the golden sands of the beach. Her heart swelled happily as she turned and bound of the water towards him, "Ravi!"

Ah, he had been caught afterall. Ravi heard her call out to him on her way over here and he stood up. The red lion went down the dunes to meet his mate half-way. He greeted her with a muzzle and spoke in an affectionate tone, "Sevi." And then, he took a step back to look her over. She looked like she was glowing with all the fun she was having. His angel, that's what she was to him.
"You didn't have to stop having fun, you know. I am more than happy watching you and the waves play with one another."

Sevati's tail flicked impatiently, she was anxious with the news that she was carrying. She returned Ravi's nuzzle with one of her own before she shook her head, "Oh it's alright Ravi, I was just passing the time waiting for you actually." Her head nodded slightly to confirm it. She had no problems stopping her play to greet her mate, she wouldn't be able to continue knowing he was there and she had not greeted him.
Her face started to heat up slightly as she felt a blush spread across her face. It was now or never. "Ravi, I have something I have to tell you," She paused, waiting to make sure she had his full attention. "Ravi...I'm pregnant." Her lime green eyes looked at him, curious as to what his reaction would be and what he would be thinking.

Ravi just let out a soft sigh, he felt slightly bad for interupting her play but if she was ok with it then he should be. He then looked at her curiously, she was acting funny all of a sudden and it piqued his interest greatly. Then, when he heard her first words, his ears perked foward, "What is it, Sevati?"
Then, her latter words stunned him into silence. Pregnant...cubs...he was going to be a father?! He was absolutely speechless that all he could do was gape at Sevati, trying to see if this was another one of her tricks on him but she looked rather serious. Once his shock had ebbed away, his face lit up happily, "Are you serious, Sevati? We're going to be parents!!" This was something he's been looking forward to all along. To have a family of his very own. Cubs that he could watch grow up right before his very eyes. "This is so wonderful, Sevi!" He purred.

When her mate didn't say anything, Sevati had begun to worry. Perhaps this was too soon, that they should have waited? But, then all her worries and fears were washed away as she saw his face light up. Why should she be worried, when she knew that Ravi wanted to have cubs some day. But regardless, she felt herself swell with happiness as she felt her tail wag back and forth happily.
"Isn't it? I didn't realize all the signs till just the other day. I've been waiting to find a good time to tell you. You're happy, right?" She eyed him cautiously, just to make sure that he really was happy.

With a nod, Ravi replied, "Of course I am, Sevi! I was just shocked and surprised. It's not something I would have guessed anytime soon. But this is just so wonderful!" It was just a shame that he would never get to tell his mother the wonderful news, that she had grandcubs, a daughter-in-law and he was alright. But that was the price he paid for living here with Sevi at the ocean.
Not wanting to ruin this wonderful moment, "Why don't we go and celebrate, Sevi?" He smiled warmly at her before he starting walking off along the beach, glancing back to make sure that she was following.

With her heart full of happiness, Sevati knew that this was just the beginning of wonderful things to come. Cubs! She was going to have cubs of her very own...a family. A family to help replace the gap that she's been sorely lacking with the absence of her whole family. But now, she would have little cubs running around to spend her time playing with.
As Ravi started to walk away, she bound off to follow him, "That sounds wonderful, I think that you have somewhere in mind." She leaned against him as the pair walked along the beach to celebrate the news of their cubs.
