I was searching around for Christian guilds today, figuring that if I was going to get back on Gaia I might as well be associated with a bunch of like-minded people instead of throwing myself to the whim of flamers elitists and general scary people in the CB or somewhere else.
So I come here, and the name is familiar to me. I'm like, "Hey! I should join this!"
Lo and behold however, I HAVE ALREADY JOINED THIS GUILD. Probably did it... two years ago? I don't really remember.
So yeah, I'm feeling a bit sheepish. biggrin
Hey, what do you guys all think of the nuts stuff that's happening in Redding CA? I hope it spreads everywhere! Buahaha.
I was reading the news and there seemed to be a LOT of anti-Christian stuff (perhaps not specifically, but in a roundabout crafty way) out in the world. Umm, one thing that caught my attention was that the UN or someone passed something that basically makes it wrong to say bad stuff about the Muslim faith. The faith, not the people. So... if you disagree with their faith... then what? (Of course people can bash Christianity all the time, that's cool). So I guess this means we can't debate about faith anymore. Trying to convert people by proving their religion is wrong is probably out too? Who knows.
Another notable thing is this whole New Age thing starting with Oprah. I'll bet she catches a lot of shaky-Christians and gets them thinking, "yeah, maybe this stuff is right!" What happens if that way of thinking sweeps and traditional Christianity is no longer seen as Christianity? What if pseudo-Christianity is accepted because it offends no one, and true Christians are ostracized from their own religion?
So I'm kinda hoping that more people start taking their faith seriously, and stepping out in it instead of thinking that they're fine to sit comfortable as long as they're not doing anything bad (And I'm hoping also that I'll get my life in order enough to actually be making some decent amount of difference in the world). If something doesn't happen we're screwed! Hah, maybe not. But things are getting tougher in the world for Christians.
I'm glad for all the stuff that's happening already though! Hope all those startup flames all over the place spread and burn up the whole countryside. biggrin
