"I'd rather not play along with his game. He wants us to run the maze like good little rats until we get to the end and we find out the cheese is a lie and we're caught in the trap. Something I'd rather avoid." Ninashi said. "Why would a devious monster lead us in the right direction if he knows we're out to kill him? True, maybe finding his little pet won't be the easiest thing in the world. Perhaps we should search the town for some clues or try and beat him to the nearest town, and hope we get there before he does." The mutant added.

"But who knows if he'll be there?" Nascha asked, talking to herself more than anyone, "He does these at random. Or, what seems random. I know there has to be some sort of pattern. We have to find the pattern in order to beat this. And we also need to find him before we can find the Beast. He always arrives about an hour before the Beast strikes. I . . . I don't know. I think it would be a good idea to go for the clue. I mean, what more do we have? He seems to think differently, so we can't base what we do off of what we might do in a normal scenario. Well, more normal than this, anyways. Normally a villain wouldn't want anyone on their trail. This guy doesn't seem to care. He came right up to us and talked to us! So I say we try our best to use this as our advantage so we can catch him when he doesn't expect it."
Nascha gracefully dismounted her horse and slung her pack across her back. "You all do what you want. I'm going to that cathedral to find the clue. Then I'm coming back out to help the survivors."

"That's just the thing. This isn't a normal villain. This isn't your run-of-the-mill bandit. This thing is obviously a lot smarter then you take him for. The 'clue' is nothing more then bait to lure us into thinking we're going in the right direction to stop him when really we're walking straight to our doom. What you seem to fail to realize is that the enemy planted that clue their." Ninashi said. "It's a bait to lure us on a path that'll keep us off his tail and eventually kill us at the same time." He added. His compainions weren't quite thinking that part out from what he's seen. But there wasn't a whole lot of options to go on either.

Angel lifted his left eyebrow. His wings flustered a little. "Maybe he doesn't care." He suggested. "He could be doing this to us. making us argue like this, because he thinks it funny. All of his clues could be wrong. All of them could be right. We just have to do something. We have to stop arguing and pick something to do. I say we vote. Who wants to go to the cathedral?" Angel slowly raised his hand looking between the others, hoping they would side with him.

"If the clue is a trap, it will at least provide a direction in which to go and find him. We need only be careful in following it. It may well lead us to a way to spring a trap of our own. In any case, it can't hurt to at least look at the clue. What we do after is a different decision. Let us find the clue, then decide. If we are not able to survive or avoid a single trap then this fellowship is doomed from the start. When facing an enemy which may appear or disappear whenever they want, we are bound to be ambushed one way or another."

"Right, sounds like a plan." Nascha said shortly. She didn't like the way things were going so far. This wasn't a debate team, there were people dying as they sat around trying to make a decision. The cait stalked off into the town and found a post to tie her horse to.
Looking up Nascha could see the cathedral across the street in plain sight. Well, what was left of the cathedral. It seemed like the large structure had been the center of the attack, any other rubble was just the effect of the ripple. It was the same way in the last town. The last town was much smaller, thought. The little church was nothing but dust and the farther you got from it the less the buildings were damaged. Coincidence?
The healer cautiously approched the rubble of the cathedral. No walls were left standing except for the wall at the rear with the cracked stained glass windows. The altar was still standing and a piece of paper was nailed to it. Nascha didn't go any farther than where the door would have been and stared over at the paper. There was nothing on it but an odd looking symbol that she'd never seen before.
"Well . . . this place is pretty trashed, I don't think there's any possibility of there being a trap. But I've been wrong before." The cait mused, "We just need to grab it and be done, I have to go and help those who are hurt."

Angel had followed Nascha with large eyes. He was glad she knew what she wanted and was going to do it. Angel was always very shy and indecisive. As they made their way to the cathedral Angel had noticed how empty the town was. Hardly any survivors. Everyone was either dead or unharmed. He also noticed many of the survivors looked at him like he was a freak. The Angel shook away from his thoughts to take a look at the alter. It was dusty from the rubble and hard to read because of the scratches. Not to mention he was distracted by the way Nascha's hair moved in the wind. He wiped a little bit of dust off and squinted at it. He couldn't see it. "Nascha?" He called over to her, "Can you make this out?" He smiled a little more stupid looking than he had anticipated it to be, but he smiled nonetheless.
