"Y'know," The male called out to the young female who was currently hard at work, polishing the blades of her knife and examining her reflection in them every few seconds. "It's not like you're really gonna use it. And besides, you've always kept it covered." When you're hitting me. He mentally added with a sigh.
The teen looked up for a moment, fixing her gold glare on her uncle. With a swift movement, she scooped up a nearby pebble and chucked it at him, and resumed polishing the blade with the blue cloth she had gotten from her grandmother.
He dodged it. Frankly, Xanul was getting tired of Verix using him as a punching bag...and a biting one. This was a time he wished he was Lune; his Nobody side could deal with her much better than he himself could.

The red-eye dragoon was on his way to the HQ for a few supplies and a pleasant afternoon stroll when he heard some voices from nearby. Not really a curious creature, the expectant father paused for a moment before continuing on, intent on leaving the pair be.
However, the path would have none of it and as he rounded the bend, he found himself approaching two strangers whom he could only assume to be the owners of the voices he'd heard. After all, he smaller one was polishing a weapon of some sort.
A polite, neighbourly smile played across his face and he moved to pass the by, wings sparking a tad as they slid against one another with a steel on steel sound. Armor flashed in the sun and for once, he felt very... obvious. These two bore no armor whatsoever and yet here he was covered in full plate.
Ah well, such things did happen. Turning his head back to the path, he continued along.

Xanul had noticed the kitsusagi first, and gave the blonde kitsusagi a smile back in return. It occurred to him that he might warn the other to not capture Verix's attention...how she interacted with strangers was mortifying to her caretaker, who always had to pull her out of trouble.
Not that she liked it.
The teen had been absorbed with making the surface of her blade as shiny as possible and she didn't notice the armored kitsusagi, even as his wings scraped against one another. It was only until she held the blade up to examine it again that she caught the reflection in it, and whirled around to stare at him. Now that, was cool.
"Hey!" She called out, grinning, her fang giving her a rather feral smile. "Hey you! Where 'cha get that kind of armor? Mother has them too, but she won't tell us."
Her uncle groaned. "Verix, don't be rude. Please." It was a habit to say that, even though he knew very well she wouldn't listen. And it was her habit to toss another pebble at him, which bounded off the Shield Charm he had conjured up in the nick of time.
