Pandangel's Naruto / Bleach Character Auction ninja AKA The Pandangel RP New Blood Drive ninja While all vital information to the auction process is included here, as well as our RPs rule's of conduct, it is recommended that interested parties check out the OOC Board For Pandangel: Naruto Shippuden Unleashed. You may also feel like checking out the RP Page, itself, For Pandangel: Naruto Shippuden Unleashed. Doing so will help give you a feel of who we are and how we operate and give you an idea of whether or not you'd be interested in playing with us. Special Note:Regarding the nature of the semi-cross-overness for Bleach. Some characters you will notice on the Auction Docket are names from other series. Most notably Bleach. Because we wanted a different and a bit more fun way of filling the other villages besides Konoha, our RP introduced our concept of "Narutizing" characters from other anime. Essentially, it was using the "created character" format to create original ninja who were based on characters from other anime. Renji and Ichigo rewritten as members of the Mist's Seven Swordsmen, for example. While Bleach isn't the only source we've used to help expand the world for our RP, I included it in the title for two reasons. 1 - I was pretty certain it would catch the most attention, and you can't get auditions without getting attention. 2 - Soon, Humorless Harlequin and I will have a dedicated Bleach RP (crossed over with a Shaman King RP). So if you were approved, for example, to play Kenpachi with us in this RP you would have first dibs on the character in the Bleach/Shaman King RP without having to send out another app. If you're interested, other sources that we've pulled "Narutized" characters from include: Dragonball Z Ranma 1/2 Inuyasha Sailor Moon Flame of Recca Yoroiden Samurai Troopers etc If you're interested in Narutizing characters to help us expand the world for our RP, or I've caught your attention for the RP but you're the type who'd rather just make up a new character to play... then by all means contact either me or Humorless Harlequin. 3nodding Hopefully, though, the "cross-over"ness won't scare you away from the RP. No outside sources are directly linked into the RP, and Narutizing just offered us a fun way of expanding the character base by making ninja out of other characters from other anime we were interested in. In the process we found out you can effectively Narutize any anime character... ninja We're always on the look-out for talented new players.

So What's a "Character Auction"? It's a character drive where you get a chance to prove your the best player for the job by providing us with the highest bid!! No, not money... RP Power! You bid by providing us with the best Application for the character. I'll provide you with the format that Pandangel RPs are known for using in their character application process, and then you fill it out and post it here on the thread. My players, my Crew, and I will be checking constantly to see what new auditions are up and as regularly as possible (count for certain on every Tuesday and Friday) the best Bid for the character will be awarded with the right to play them. Before the Auction Begins... let me explain the rules of this thread. Character Auction Rules::Only Auction-related posts should be posted on this thread. No RPing, no RP discussion, no unrelated conversation. Period.
If you wish to discuss the RP or ideas you have for it, please visit The OOC Discussion Thread.
You may use the traditional method of application found on the OOC thread if you feel you're too shy to be judged by the players you'll be playing with. But, keep in mind that if you're auditioning a character and there is a "Bid" for the character on this thread... my players vote can count for as much as (or more than) my own personal opinion on the matter.
Be civil. Nothing's going to cause you to lose points with me faster than being rude...
Probably most importantly... be serious. If you don't intend to play in our RP, please don't audition for a character. It just holds us up, frustrates and demoralizes my players, and makes you look like a douche...

Story of the RP::The Akatsuki are winning. Uzumaki Naruto is the only host of a bijuu remaining. The five great nations prepare for war, and once again the smaller nations are pulled in by the inescapable gravity of the conflict. Lacking proof of a responsible party, nations begin to suspect that the bijuu have been collected for use against them... suspicions rise with hostilities.
The Nations of Water and Thunder ally, sending a wave of tension across the lands. They are joined by the Snow country, putting a single unified enemy on three sides of Konoha for the first time. Thankfully, the Kazekage owes his life to the shinobi of Konoha and their bonds stand stronger than ever. Meanwhile, the looming titan of the Earth Country remains suspiciously quiet and the Akatsuki combined with the forces of the Amegakure ninja allow the Rain Country to remain independant.
Perhaps the only good news that comes across the borders is that Orochimaru is dead. Killed by Uchiha Sasuke. But when Sasuke doesn't return to Konoha, his friends wonder exactly how good this news truly is.
The timeline has diverged slightly here. The sand siblings and Baki were able to assist Team Kakashi and Team Gai in the return of their Kazekage. Rather than being killed by Sakura and Chiyo, Sasori was able to be aprehended by the combined ability of Sakura, Baki, Chiyo and Kankuro. Kakashi was assisting Gai in the removal of the seals, which left Kakashi fighting (ironically) a copy of himself. Temari and Lee were left available to assist Naruto in the interception of Deidara and the retrieval of Gaara.
Under the weight of five Jounin, three Chuunin and the Kyuubi Jinchuuriki, the mission proved more straight forward. After severely wounding and poisoning Baki and Chiyo, and coming close to a killing strike several times on Sakura, Sasori was finally apprehended, minus the appendages of his arms. It was the Four Tailed Naruto, not the overexertion of his Magenkyo Sharingan that landed Kakashi in the hospital in this timeline.
Chiyo gave her life to save the Kazekage. The interogation squad, head by Ibiki and Baki, was able to extract just the information of the meeting on the bridge in the Grass Country, leading to a mission that went very similar to the known timeline where Naruto and the rest of Team Yamato encountered Kabuto and Orochimaru on the bridge. Much as he had done to Kakashi and Jiraiya before him, Naruto critically wounded Orochimaru exerting more power against him than he had ever unleashed previously and leaving him in a state weak enough to be killed by Uchiha Sasuke with little effort. In this timeline, it is not Sasori's ring, but Orochimaru's that is presented to Tobi. His first task; to assist Deidara in the return of Sasori...
We begin as the Thunder, Water and Snow Countries have representatives within the neutral Wave Country Territory to secure their alliance, the closest an enemy army has ever gotten to Konoha since the Shinobi Wars during the time of the Third Hokage. Brave Shibuki does his best to keep his country calm, even though their territories are between Konoha and slumbering enemies to the north and west.
Asuma has just volunteered his team for a mission of vengeance agaist the Akatsuki members who are believed to have killed his former mentor and friend within the Fire Monks, and Team Kurenai is selected to assist Kankuro and Temari in the transport of the Akatsuki prisoner, Sasori, back to Sunagakure. And a weakened Kazekage seeks council while on respite in Konohagakure...
The first days of summer are dawning. Though tensions rise, everything is quiet for now. But a pleasant summer breeze may only be the calm before the storm... Rules of the RP:: 1. The standard Pandangel RP rule that we've come to know as the "don't be a douche-hat" rule. That's your basic, don't godmode, don't metagame, don't violate TOS, don't harass other players... you know. A lot of other RPs make all of these into seperate rules, but we figured it all came down to "not being a douche-hat".
2. To apply a canon character, you may fill out either the Canon or Created Character application... the Canon Character application is just a simplified design based on the fact that we who are running the RP know what a canon character is capable of. Having said that, when applying and when playing... please keep in mind what your character is capable of. To apply for a created character, you must fill out the Created Character Application, or you may select one of our premade characters. If you wish to apply a character just to be sent into our Premade waiting office (if you enjoy making characters up but maybe don't want to play this particular one) you may submit them as well. Make a note in the application that you're applying a character to be put into Premade Availables.
3. If you fail to post for more than a week in a given scene, you will be notified, and given the urgency of the scene you may be skipped. After two weeks, if you still have not posted, you will be given a final warning. Beyond three weeks without posting, your character will be either removed from the RP or put into our Available Premade selection for another player to apply, should they choose to. Of course none of this will be done without your knowledge, unless you just vanish from the face of the Earth. Also, to avoid this, if you're going to be gone for an extended amount of time, let us know... if we can move your character out of the current scene then this rule doesn't apply to you.
4. Your created character does not have a Sharingan. But if you would like to mimic a Byakugan for just a moment, I'll give you a hint that you should probably highlight areas that seem unusually blank within the Rules...
5. Yes, you have to choose an Elemental Alignment. But Elemental Alignment doesn't mean your character is a Pokemon. Water Jutsu can overcome Fire Jutsu when the two are of even Chakra. All that means is that a Fire Jutsu has to use more chakra to be effective against the Water Jutsu. Also, an elemental alignment doesn't mean your character is bound specifically to those elements. Your character, with training can do a jutsu from any of the 5 schools, we've seen Kakashi do at least 3 elements. Think of it more like this; a character who is Earth aligned, will feel more natural performing Earth based Jutsu, and feel extremely akward doing Thunder Jutsu. Any other element, or any non-elemental jutsu will be the same as anybody else performing it. Barring special circumstances, such as a Kage, the most I will approve for a characters elemental alignment is 2 elements.
6. Do Not Talk About Fight Club! But do talk to us about the RP. If you haven't introduced yourself on the OOC Discussion before messaging me, I will have to ignore you. If it's your first night, you have to fight!
7. The limit of Canon Characters per player, at this time, is 7. (*points* Note the convenient numbering) Depending on how things go, that number may raise, but probably won't lower any time soon. Certain characters will carry more weight and be judged more harshly than other characters... to warn players ahead of time. I will expect much more of an Uzumaki Naruto player than I will of a Mitarashi Anko player. If a character is going to be a big responsibility, you might want to check your current load before taking them on. A good rule of thumb: If you say the character's name and somebody needs to be reminded of who that character is (ie: "He's that guy... he says "Lucky" a lot... he impersonated Naruto in the Chuunin Exam..." ) he isn't going to carry as much responsibility as if the character's name happens to be.. say... the Title of the series.
8. Having said that, one of our goals is to encourage players to play a character from the inside, not the out. That means think about why a character has done the actions we've seen them do before, and not what we've seen them do before. While I strive to remain true to source, if we're just playing the same events we saw in the manga and anime... that'd get pretty boring. So really try to get inside a character so that they will be able to grow and adapt with the game as it goes. I say this as a rule because I also don't want people to b***h to me if through the course of RP a Hinata player ends up in a romantic situation with their Kiba player, or Kakashi gets so depressed he hangs himself one day, or Lee suddenly decides he wants to start a Rock Band.
9. Unfortunately no one can be told exactly what the Matrix is. But, if you want to apply for a character, the title of your PM to me should be the name of that movie's star. Are you the one?
10. This is the last rule. I think 10 is good. Like commandments. Okay, so two of those weren't really rules... and one is more of a character creation guideline... and I guess 8's more of an RP tip. Anyways... when reviewing character application certain criteria will cause me to judge it more harshly. (a) If your character is the missing sibling of an established character. (b) If your character has a "sure kill" jutsu. (c) If your character's application makes mention of a strong association with another character, without that character's player approving it.
There are ways past each of those, of course. (a) If the character has been shown to have an exceptionally large family, like the Hyuuga family or the Inuzuka family. Or if you just have a good reason, or otherwise good application going with the "missing sibling". (b) The more I've played with you, the more I trust you, the more likely you are to get a powerful move past me. It's a matter of whether or not I think I can trust you to interact fairly with this power. I want to call that the Spider Man rule. (c) This is just gonna depend on the nature of the relationship. If you're applied character has a crush on Sakura... okay, that doesn't require her participation in past events. If your character is Tsunade's ex-husband... I really think the Tsunade player should be in on that. Special Note For the Auction::As far as the Character Auction goes, you can go ahead and ignore rules 4, 6 and 9. But it would still be a good sign, and greatly appreciated, if you introduced yourself on the OOC thread if you're serious about your Bid for a character. 3nodding

[b]RP Challenge:[/b] Name (& Meaning): Pretty obvious, I'd think. I can't give you the character if you can't even tell me who they are, right? Meaning isn't necessary... but if you know it and want to show you do, by all means. Why That Character: Exactly what it says. Tell us why you want to play that character, and why you think we should let you play that character instead of anybody else. A little hint... this is the part that's most important to me when I look at an application. Chakra Alignment:According to Kakashi, every ninja has a chakra elemental allignment that corresponds with one of the five Naruto-universe Elements. Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Lightning. You can have up to 2 elements for an average character, Kage-level characters might be approved with 3. Only Pein should have more than that... Please note that elemental alignment doesn't mean you have to use jutsu exclusively from that element. Just that your character is better at them, and less skilled at defending against the element that beats that element. Background:I want everything you know about the character in your own words. Don't copy their leafninja.com bio... don't copy their wikipedia page. Just tell me everything you know about them in a few paragraphs. It doesn't need to be a novel... but if you've been following the character intently enough to want to play them you should be able to manage two or three paragraphs pretty easy, right? Jutsu List:Doesn't have to be every jutsu that the character knows. Just their favorites to use, or their special secret ones. The stuff we're going to see most in the RP. Please keep in mind that certain canon jutsu are exclusive to certain countries and/or characters. If you're Bidding on a Narutized character and want help coming up with ways of turning their classic techniques from the source the character is based on into Jutsu... go ahead and ask either me or Humorless Harlequin. Anything Special We Should Know About The Character:Anything you might want to do with the character that might not be strictly established in canon. Maybe the canon hinted at a bloodline ability or special jutsu but never elaborated... and you want to give it a go? Maybe you've always thought there might be a relation between them and another character? Maybe you intend on playing the character with a re-evaluated sexuality and you want to use evidence to support your decision to do so? You get the idea? RP Challenge: This will be where the meat of your "Bid" comes from. Your responses to the RP Challenge Posts that will be listed in the next post. The more challenge posts you respond to, the more we can see how you intend on playing the character. ~~ If you're familiar with Pandangel RPs and this looks somewhat unfamiliar to you... let me explain why. It's kind of the illegitimate child of our Canon Character App and our Created Character App, designed in such a way that it can be used for both. Since all the characters that will be listed on the Auction are technically canon from something (even if they're Narutized for the RP)... I wanted to make sure that the auction format included the "Why" portion that we've found is fundamental in deciding what players should have a character. So what's a completed "Bid" look like? Yakushi Kabuto (Yakushi has to do with the Buddha involving medicine. Kabuto means "Helmet". His full name is also a kind of herb or flower that can be both medicinal or poisonous depending on how it is administerred.
Why That Character:
For starters, he's been my favorite character since before I knew his name. Back when everybody was telling me how awesome Kakashi was, and I was bored of hearing it, I was joking with people that the "white haired kid with glasses was going to kick Kakashi's a**". I was even more impressed with him when I saw him in the Chuunin exams and he quickly became my favorite character, even during the times when people forgot who he was. While I never got to see the asskicking I'd been claiming was going to occur, I was pleasantly surprised to note that several characters place him on Kakashi's level... and he was skilled enough to fight one of the legendary Sannin.
In this RP, I'm looking forward to letting Kabuto run wild with the addition of Orochimaru's chakra to his own... combining Orochimaru's flare with Kabuto's own specialties (Medical Jutsu and Genjutsu.) Not to mention that every RP HH plays Kakashi in... I play Kabuto... eventually we're going to settle that a**-kicking.
Chakra Alignment:
Water / Lightning (possibly Earth with the addition of Orochimaru's chakra)
Background:
Very little is known about Kabuto's past before his association with Orochimaru. We know that he was found after a battle involving the Konohanin at Kikyou Pass, and he was brought back to Konoha by one of the medical ninja who were healing the injured after the battle. At some point during his unremarkable childhood in Konoha he also encountered the Akatsuki member Sasori who placed him under his mind-control jutsu in an attempt to use him as a splinter-cell spy against Orochimaru.
Orochimaru realized this and freed Kabuto from the control of Sasori, presumably just because he could. It's uncertain if Orochimaru coerced cooperation out of Kabuto at any point, or if he would have if he'd needed to... because Kabuto willingly and eagerly joined Orochimaru's side because he "liked his style". However, despite his apparently unwavering loyalty to Orochimaru, Kabuto has acted outside of Orochimaru's orders and even against them. Examples include healing both Hinata and Sakura when they were injured.
Socially, Kabuto seems to like being in control of situations. He's only ever demonstrated any kind of submissive tendancies towards Orochimaru and seems to openly look down on others. Though, the fact that he's apparently one of the most skilled liars in the Naruto universe makes telling how he feels about anybody a little difficult. He doesn't seem to get emotional easily. He's made certain comments that insinuate he may have a few obsessive compulsive tendancies, including comments about keeping things in order and wanting to make sure he had one of every body type for his scrolls...
In combat, Kabuto has been said to be on a level equal to the legendary Hatake Kakashi. Though obviously in very different fields of expertise. He's demonstrated next to no actual skills with standard attack-style ninjutsu, preferring to rely on manipulating an enemy's body instead of hitting them with a powerful technique. His Taijutsu seems capable enough, but it's unlikely he would be able to depend on it solely. Genjutsu is one of his specialties, however, and he has been shown to be able to use a Genjutsu capable of effecting a huge crowd including Jounin. Kabuto's best skill for use in combat, however, seems to be preperation, and he tends to avoid confrontations that he hasn't had a chance to ready himself for.
The fact that he's been so favorably compared to Kakashi by both Orochimaru and Jiraiya, and the statement "better than me in my prime" made by Tsunade can argue that Kabuto is a "Kage" level character.
Jutsu List:
Chakra no Mezu-
The Chakra Scalpel. He can cut unside somebody's body and perform surgery without the use of tools.
Inyu Shoumetsu-
Kabuto's ability to forcably regenerate any damaged tissue on his body. The more chakra he has available, the more he can regenerate.
Nehan Shouja no Jutsu-
A genjutsu used to hypnotize a group and put them to sleep. Skilled users can put large crowds to sleep with ease.
Shikon no Jutsu-
This jutsu allows one with knowledge of the human body to control a dead body. The jutsu requires that the body still have it's heart as the heartbeat regulates the flow of chakra through the body. However as long as the heart is in tact, any dead body can be used by the ninja.
Shousen no Jutsu-
The standard healing jutsu known by all medical ninja. Kabuto is apparently signifigantly skilled at this ability, showing an ability to heal injuries that had been deemed fatal by other medical ninja.
Invisibility Technique-
Using a genjutsu Kabuto can make himself appear invisible to the naked eye, though it would be useless against the intuitive power of the Sharingan or Byakugan. Kabuto demonstrated this technique during the Chuunin exams. It is uncertain if it is the same jutsu used against Kakashi and Obito during the last ninja war.
Edo Tensei-
The ability to sacrifice a living body to bring back the dead. It can only be used once per soul, and the soul must not be in the belly of the Shinigami to be brought back.
Shoushagen no Jutsu-
The ability to remove the face of another person and apply it to one's self as a mask. This makes for more efficient spying than a simple Henge no Jutsu, as the disguise can't be broken as easily.
Senei Jashu & Senei Ta Jashu-
The ability to send snakes out from one's limbs to extend one's strike, bind an enemy, carry an elemental attack, or deliver a poison or other form of attack to a target outside of one's normal reach.
Shikumi no Jutsu-
A genjutsu that requires eye contact. The target is placed in a very real illusion that usually involves their death. The intent is psychological damage to an enemy. He can amplify this ability by using it in conjuction with the Jagan.
Juin Jutsu-
Knowledge of the cursed seals developped by Orochimaru, and the ability to apply them to others. Once applied, the survival of the sealed ninja is outside of Kabuto's control... but he can use his medical knowledge to increase the odds.
Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Snakes / Bodies
Kabuto has demonstrated the ability to summon both snakes of the snake clan, and bodies that he has kept in storage.
Kikyougahara no Jutsu-
Named for the bloody battle in which he was allegedly one of the only survivors. This jutsu is essentially a massive version of the summoning of bodies. Kabuto summons a huge graveyard full of corpses to litter a battlefield so that he has literally hundreds of bodies at his disposal for the fight.
Anything Special We Should Know About The Character:
Using his medical knowledge to alter his own body Kabuto had spent years trying to develop a bloodline ability of his own. However, he lacked the chakra levels to satisfactorily use it consistantly in battle. This changed when he took Orochimaru's chakra into his body.
What he developped he named the Jagan. "Snake's Eye" or "Evil Eye". The eye allows him to, with eye contact, use a target's own chakra to illicit medical effects in their body. Primarily this offers him protection against the Cursed Seals, by allowing him to force an enemy's body to lock it away temporarily. By making one's body treat the seal as a disease, it makes the seal more of a liability in combat than an asset.
But he can also do more intent damage to a target if he can bypass their knowledge of his attempts to effect them. To do this he'll attempt to lock a target in a genjutsu. The effects of the genjutsu can then be made "real" by forcing the body to react to them... meaning someone who's arm was cut in the illusion would awaken from it with a real gash across their arm. Because of the amount of chakra required and his inexperience using it, Kabuto can only use this ability three times a day and even then with signifigant rest periods between each use.
The illusions created are not Sharingan level illusions, they are standard illusions (albeit with Kabuto's Genjutsu talent behind them) which are assisted by a jutsu which causes the damage inflicted against the enemy to manifest itself on the body. Arguably, if a Sharingan user still had enough chakra to manifest their sharingan, they would be able to break out of the ability relatively easily. Though, if he caught them by surprise he may be able to make use of it before it was renderred ineffective for the fight.
(( I gave him this ability because of the "logically expand on your character" nature of our RP, and because he shares a voice actor with Midou Ban of GetBackers, another of my favorite anime characters. ))
