Macto Mare is an island to the south of most of the continent. Were the water army resides, if away from the capital. This island is one of the biggest in the ocean, and in proximity of all cities and towns but the capital itself. From the far distance, people think that it would be hard for the army to reach the capital if in distress. The Army prides itself in that. The garrison at Recon Isles are meant to protect the capital, as the rest protect the seas and its dwellers.
This island is where basic training, advance training, and other militarist things happen.

rica understood that this island was for training and though her father has taught her most of what she knows she knew there was always room improvement

Aggravated, Seifer grumbled and slumped over on the guard rail as he watched the distant island of Macto Mare pass. He pinched the bridge of his nose to relieve some stress and possibly just forget the island existed. "If there were a worse target... Wait, there was. That was the Recon islands. Just one more to inspect then." He gave a brief signal to the helmsman to speed things up. The sooner they were away from this island the better.
